They have the worst f****n service ever. DO NOT GO IN THERE AND EXPECT TO GET OUT IN 2 MINUTES. They never have enough people working. The person working the parts counter is also a cashier. Yesterday I went inside for just 2 air fresheners for my Q and got straight in line. I waited...and waited...and waited...........and waited....waited. 4 F****N WORKERS AT THE PARTS COUNTER NOT ONE AT THE CASH REGISTER!!! I kept looking at them as if to say "Is SOMEBODY going to ring me up or what?" Nobody even said "I'll be right there" all they did was look at me like they were gonna walk towards me, but then they'd walk in the back instead. After standing at the register for 5 minutes, I threw the air fresheners at the wall behind the registers and stormed out.

Now, it's not like me to let my temper take over but it's like that nearly EVERY TIME I go in there. I got in my car and skidded off and went down the street to Kragen. In and out in under a minute. I don't mind standing in a line with a cashier there ringing up customers, but if NOBODY is there then it just pisses me off. How do you run a business if nobody is there to take the friggin money?

You're probably asking why I don't go to Kragen more often. It's because they're always out of stock of whatever I need. I may just give them more chances there though because at least the people are courteous.

My favorite is Pepboys but they moved out of my city and aren't a quick trip down the street anymore. Walmart is always an option too, but I tend to go to them just for my Mobil 1.

stupid autozone

hahahahah...they suck here in elkton too.

you walk in and there's no one at the counter, it's like they hide from customer's or something, and when you do find someone, they end up giving you the wrong part.

The Pep Boys here is kinda like your auto zone. We only have one in the area (north of DC) and I have to drive 4 miles to get to it.

They have a huge line of Salvadorians, Mexicans, Bolivians each waiting to check multiple parts for thier different cars; then theres me waiting just to check on a part price and availability. Carlos Mencia is absolutely correct about everything.

Takes about 45 minutes unless you show up about closing time or early in the morning. They have a seperate cashier, but there is usually only one working even during the busy ttimes. Its a crock and thats why I shop at Advance Auto, even if they dont have it, the can drder it and have it there within one week guaranteed.

Its the shiznit.

God do I know what you mean. They just stare at you and act like someones calling them in the back and walk off!. I dont go there anymore. Its either O'reilys or Advanced from now on.

I was quoting the limits of the guarantee, you silly person.

Yes they can usually get it faster, but not all parts are created equal. Why must you be so extreme?

there's an advance auto parts near where i live. more like advance rice zone since there's always TOTALLY COOL TRICKED OUT CIVICS AND ECLIPSES in the parking lot getting new euro lights!

and then further down there's an o'reily's, which i ventured to when i got my tires changed because i needed 3 lug nuts. and instead of going into advance and buying a pack of 24 for 30 dollars, o'reily's gave me the 3 for 3.50. i'd suggest that advance and autozone are pretty similar, what with horrible service and all.

I have a great idea.I say we all apply to work at the Autozones in our areas. The way those things are run we will be managers in no time. We can kill two birds with one stone. On one side its easy cash. on the other side.......We will be that mch closer to ruling the world. Muaaaahaaaah!!!!!!!!

The autozone here is the same way. I tend to go directly across the street to O'Reillys even though they're a little more expensive on some things the service is great and some of the employees remember me even though I'm not in there but about once every couple of months.

Our Autozone is decent, other than not having ANYTHING in stock other than cheap bling stuff. You can order something if you want to wait. I went in once and no one in the shop had any idea what NPT was or anything about thread sizes.

As for the register thing, that happened last semester at my school cafe, it was rather late, but no one was at the register to ring me up. I waited for around 5 min, and I was about ready to just walk off with my $10 worth of food without paying. I think someone noticed me starting to pick up my tray and yelled, "be with you in a minute," and continued what they were doing until they finished before coming up to the register. I was

hehe. yeah i was joking. But the autozone workers here are like 90% hispanic. The situation of the autozone waitting in Georgia is the same... there's is no way you can pick up a thing and leave in 5 mins. They are always short of people. Even in the night 1am (one autozone here is the 24hrs store) there are still people there buying but only one cashier..

I've had trouble with Advance in GA several times. One time I went in to order a headgasket and some other parts, came back a couple days later, they had forgotten to place the order, lied, tried to blame it on me/other employees/the computer system/etc. I don't remember what else happened, but it was a huge cluster, and took a couple weeks to get a HG, and they were rude as hell. So, I sent a complaint email from their website. Regional manager called me back 2 days later, apologizing, saying he was on his way to the store to correct some managerial issues, apparently mine wasn't the first complaint. A week or so later, the staff was partially replaced, and service improved

People in Cincinnati don't care about their car or they get someone else to fix it. My autozone and pepbys never have more then 5 customers at a time.

'Round here it's the other way around.Checkers (Checker Auto Parts, the store chain, not the people at the cash registers) are ****, Autozone's the one you go to for the employees that can understand "93 SOHC Maxima" instead of being lemmings to the computer search system. Also, checker always asks me if my Maxima is the 2 door or four door model. It's not a ****ing accord, a$$.

I have a "friend" (he thinks he's my friend...I think he's annoying) who works at the nearest Checker (same as Kragen and Schucks, in case anyone's not aware) and this FRIEND was so lazy to do work, he kept walking back in the store from trying to diagnose my Ranger's CEL code (I think the OBDI Ford connector confused him a lot, too.) to yell across the store that someone else should do it, because he wanted his lunch break. Noone else would, and I ended up being left with the diagnostic tool hooked up and no one to help me. I should have taken the diagnostic tool and left. They also treat you like you've said a dirty word if you say something they're not familiar with (which is most anything).

Although...I was at autozone the other day and the Manager was ignoring me, busy stocking shelves. I asked him if they carry BG44k or an equivalent. He simply said "what the hell is BG44K?!" and went back to stocking the shelf. I mumbled (loudly) that any store with a manager as uninformed as him was a waste of money, and I left...

Yeah...I know what you mean. Autoparts stores are not for car people--it's sort of bassackwards.

I work at Autozone (unfortunately) but i'll give you an inside on most things.

1. Yes, we are always understaffed... it sucks, but its like a big multi-million dollar company now, so they care more about $$ than service... sort of like wal-mart.2. The ppl that just look at you when you try to check out probably aren't on the registers that day. We have ppl doing truck deliveries that look and dress like normal employees at the front counter. If you see them "hanging out" in the back they arent. They are usually pulling parts or filling out invoices to take to deliver to the next place. They have one or two ppl run the cash registers and all the other workers cant log in to check you out, theyre not just ignoring you. And if the person/ppl that do ahve registers are busy with another customer at the moment, it is really hard to tell the customer sorry i have to go check people out, because then they get all upset because they feel that the world revolves around them.3. They say they are a parts store but since we sell all that other bull**** thats not behind the counter like air freshners and lame lighted windshield washers, we are swarmed with ppl wanting to get those items instead of just parts for theyre car.4. People want want want want and it takes time to look/ get/order these parts. They always ask tons of questions. Its not like a quickee mart or 7-11 in and out type deal. It should be, if they just had the cashier stay at the register, but thats how they run theyre backassward company.5. Unfortunely we offer "services" for free, like batter checks, battery replacements/charges, check engine lights, alternater/starter tests, windshield wiper blade installment, and other lame little things to blow tons of time. These things are free, and would cost tons of money somewhere else, but for some reason ppl feel like we have to do these things. If we are busy like we always are, we just don't have the time at the moment to help you. Im sorry but this all goes back to being understaffed. And atleast say thank you when they use theyre 180$ obd-II checker or remove you're old battery and put in a new one for you because you are lazy.6. Some ppl don't know off the tops of theyre head what everything is. Bg 44k is a cleaner that we dont carry, which is probably why he said "what the hell?" Unfortunately everyone doesn't know everything.7. And we dont check OBD I. Only OBD II.

Thats about all i cant think of cause i just worked a 14 hr. shift. But i mean the jobs pretty ****ty. Only good thing is 20% off, other then that we deal with impatient, pissed off people 65% of the time because theyre cars are broken. It gets to you when ppl are already in a bad mood before they walk into the door.

And oh yeah... to order something you have to prepay... so if they say something like "yea i can order that for you and get it in by (whatever date the computer says)." They usually tell you you have to prepay for the item, but some ppl, mainly ones on the phone dont get this concept and think we just ordered theyre part in and get really pissed when its not there.

Some inside policies:1. On returns, you get cash back if you used cash, check, or debit. You can't put the money back onto you;re debit card, our system wont allow it.2. On credit card returns we can only return it back to you;re card. It ususally takes 3 days to show on your statement.3. We have to get a managers password for just about everything. So when they are busy we have to wait around for them to finish whatever we were doing to enter their password.4. I already told you the services are free and we dont "have" to do them. I don;t get paid extra for doing extra services, so it's usually a burden on me. so if i refuse to do anything to you're car, sorry, but when i could be held liable, and i have to do extra work, I usually tell customers someone else in the store well do it... someone usually well help you with you're car.

F-it im done writing this im tired. But pretty much it does suck, but if everyone called and complained to theyre local autozones or the corporate office maybe or hopefully things well change. but until then that is all i have to say about autozone.

I only go to Advance.

I never even bothered to find out where locations for the other chains are. Honestly, I order pretty much everything online anyway, if I need an S14-specific part (i.e. sensors or whatever). Online is always cheaper.

Auto parts stores are just for generic stuff, like oil, oil filters, hose clamps, etc...

I get my air fresheners from Car Trenz in Rockville, because they're Jay Dee Emm Tyte.
