Here's the deal, i drifted the car into a concrete light standard a few months ago, and when i came away everything still rolled straight.... recently it appears the car has developed a wobble on that same side... the rim doesn't appear to be bent, and when i took the wheel off and pulled on the brake assemby for movement i found none... it worries me, partly because this car needs to be track worth by the 31rst or May... if anyone has any idea what the problem is, how i can correct it please tell me...

Thanks.

maybe a small crack in the frame. my friend with an older camaro that he just got running says that he has to get the frame welded because there was a very small crack that got bigger

Our local club is doing a lapping day on the 31rst

I've been looking it over, i'm beginning to think it's a wheel bearing... anyone care to confirm that this may be the case?

yeah, a wheel bearing can easily go bad with a good side shock, like your talking about, and cuse a woble-ish symptom, is there any noises associated with it? I'd also have it take to a frame shop to they cna check the little frame-holes that indicate if the frame is straight.-chet

a frame shop is hard to find down here.....

The funny thing is, i haven't heard the grinding noises normally associated with a bad bearing...

the wheel was a little harder to spin which is a regualr symptom of a bearing problem...

i can do a few things from this pointa) take it to a shop and see if they can find the problemb) rip off the hub and replace the bearingsc) take it to an alignment shop

the real problem is the time i have for this to be fixed

Thanks for the replies, keep em coming...

The wobble in essence is about about half a centimeter

I'm going to take it to an alignment place on a hunch that the wobble is simpley a slip in adjustment

Because i have no grinding, or new noises, and the stiffness of the wheel is associated to the brakes, i'm going to get them to align it, if they cant do it, obviously its something more internal...

I'll let you guys know how it goes...

Speaking of noises, and bearings....when going slow, ie. parking, or leaving from a parking space, I hear a strange sound from the front of my car. Actually it sounds as if it is coming from the front tires. The sound is similar to the noise that a bicycle might make if something was hitting the spokes..does anyone know what this could be? I know my timing chain is making a slight noise, but this is a different sound. I will be doing my brakes this weekend and at that point I can take a better look at the rotor assembly, but till then I worry about the sound.:help -Alex

and stuff.... haha

Anyways... i think some tightening and a little bit of fidgiting will help me straighten this wheel out, because they more i think about it, the less threatening it becomes, the car still drives relatively well... i'm getting it aligned in a few days...

anyways thats for the help guys..
