OK, So extended warranty has expired....GAME ON, local shop installs sr20's for $6k (built to produce 260 rwhp) . Kinda much to come out of pocket at one pop. I was thinking about I/H/E but the $cost to hp gain is much less.

my question is to all with experience taking one road or the other. if you had it to do over? what would you do?

my ride is a 98 coupe with 75,000 miles on it. I've had it since 2000 with 30,000 miles on it.

Jesus, with that new of a ride and that low of mileage there's no reason to go SR JDM Tyte. Save a bit more up and turbo that KA!

$6k will easily turbo the KA!

Look into the Greddy turbo kit that retails for around $3000 and go check out the KA-T forum. There is plenty of info there on what you should be doing with such a low mileage car.

Well he was saying that 6 grand was a bit much so I wasn't sure of what he was looking to spend...either way, turbo it. ;)

turbo = win = hot and sexy.

I wouldn't bother with I/H/E. Just save up the money and go either KA-T or SR. You'll be glad you did in the long run. mean time though I would get an Apex'i cat back or some other catback as that will stay with whatever turbo decision you make.

with a low mileage KA, ge thte greddy kit, you can even get an intercooler for it now, with a reprogrammed E_manage to up the boost and fuel a bit, and you'll ahve the Ka's torque and the turbo kick to boot.

6k is more than enough to put in that turbo kit, add an exhaust and be quite fast.-chet

i agree with the above idea of turboing the ka. you could probably get something with a bit more boost and possibly a bigger turbo than the greddy unit. with 6k you could piece together a damn fast kit..

If your staying with the ka...... and your still trying to decide wether n/a or turbo?? Try an electric fan, lightweight flywheel, better cams, just the k&n airfilter, better plug wires and a catback. You can install an underpully(some say it's safe/ some say it's hard on the ka). <---all these are good if n/a or turbo. All this will entertain you until you cough up the cash to go turbo. If you do go turbo...i'd try porting/polishing the head and use a thicker gasket to drop the compression.

Hit up WDRacing for a very nicely priced turbo kit to your liking and hit up AZhitman for a great catback with a NICO discount.

but IHE will free up a little wasted HP. if you have a bad *** engine then it will be worth it because the stock parts are restrictive. but if you have a stock engine it wont produce big results.
