I/H/E power gains? Is it worth the cash?

I had a discussion with a freind of mine, and he heard that gains from an I/H/E combo would be around 13-15 to the wheels. I've heard more around the lines of 8-10. Has anyone dynoed their car b4 and after the install of the combo? What do you guys think?

Headers aren't worth the cash, intake/exhaust are (the right combination can be a big HP gain, especially for rotary's or boosted cars)

I/H/E is about 10-15 at the wheels. I don't have dyno numbers, but quarter mile ETs go down a bit.

Depends on what you've done/are planning to do to the car, and naturally the intake and exhaust setup you choose.

A direct stock replacement drop-in K&N filter is obviously not going to be as high a horsepower gaining "intake" like a full CAI system will be... same as slapping on an Auto Zone muffer isn't going to give the gains that a Borla cat-back will.

Like bink0r said, some cars REALLY benefit from a freer-flowing exhaust. Some RX-7s have insane power gains just from opening things up under there a little bit... Rotaries love to breathe.

My signature lists my mods..... basically I/H/E and electric fans. I have never had it dyno'd and I'm no expert.... a rough guess judging by the feel of the vehicle, and the weight of it... I'd say 10hp would be close... but not outlandish. If someone told me it gained 15 at the wheels, I'd be skeptical. If they said 8 to 12... I'd totally believe it.
