First off, the mods I have on my car are in my sig. As you can see, I pretty much have the basic bolt-ons covered, with i/h/c/e and a stage 2 clutch. Now my question is, what comes next? I was thinking along the lines of a tuned ecu, possibly from JWT. Considering the stuff I have already, will this be the best gain in performance for the money? Any suggestions to make my dohc KA faster will be considered. Thanks

underdrive pulley. Then I'd say a front strut bar and a rear sway bar.

for all the money you spent on mods you could have half a turbo kit and the ecu might as well be for a turbo too and you should be rocking 230-250 hp easy man

thanks guys, but let me clarify a little bit. i am not going turbo in the immediate future for the fact that it is way too much money all at one time. also, i was looking for advice on my next engine mod, not suspension or anything else. if i dont get a pre-programmed ecu, what kind of devices can i use to tune the car in the same way an upgraded ecu would? i know with all the basic bolt-ons that there is some power waiting to be unleashed if the car is tuned right..

To close the deal you need an ecu tune. Stop avoiding it.

JWT would help alot.

PDM Cams with JWT adjustable gears are good for 10-14rwhp after you tune them.

this, plus flywheel, driveshaft, and if you get that far, ITBs and headwork. The only ways to get more power from there are higher compression (sohc pistons) and higher revving with high end cams and the valves/retainers etc you`d need to run at high revvs (like 8), plus at some point, better rods to keep from bending them at really, really high revvs (like 9+). Fuel would become an issue at some point, along with timing. Heck, if you get up to that point, you`ll want a standalone or something to be much more specific on your tuning.

Course, you could always just upgrade your tires and diff, and lighten your car, and you`d be faster without increasing your power. Carbon this, aluminum that, lose weight, etc.

Megasquirt ecu.

It's in your budget and leaves more room for new mods without having to send the ecu off.

After that... SOHC pistons to raise your compression would probably be a good idea along with cams. At some point though you're going to have to do something about opening up your intake more. And you really need to contemplate upgrading your differential to a viscous one.

Some redline synthetic fluids (transmission and diff) would be good for your car as well.

Lighter wheels have already been mentioned but it's worth repeating. Seriously contemplate 15 or 16 inch wheels since the tires are cheaper and when talking high quality can be had for less than their big brothers.

you can get some cams (JWT or PDM), aluminum flywheel (fidanza), lightened crank pulley ( ASP, UR) and a aluminum driveshaft to add to your NA build up list.

if your looking for a bolt-on, i'd say intake manifold and a larger throttle body.

I am not sure. you would think they would start to make aftermarket parts for the KA , but i wasnt too sure. KA motor's are slightly under-rated . . .

And then start piecing together an ITB setup.

Nothing wrong with keeping it NA.
