so you say throw em in there?and how do i keep them from flying from side to side when i turnand what do you think is better than this right now?im looking but yet for some reason i like the way these sound.fueler wrote:good old school setup, better than most of the stuff on the market today. Should sound even better in the R50 than in a prelude (R50 is like a hatchback while the prelude has a seperate trunk, i think) I say install in and bang it.
oh oksee i was thinking maybe there was a way to strap em down and hold them in place, but wouldnt be as noticeable as the layout you had.fueler wrote:my r50 has 4 metal floor hooks in the rear hatch. They are perfect for my system, i took a bunch of bungee cords and strapped down the sub and bolted down the amp
flat straps would probably be better as the bungees tend to leave indentations on the box. old setup, to give u an idea (im running 2 10's now)
aw man thats a low blow. L brackets are weak and no straps at all is the most ghetto. My box used to fly around the back when i offroaded - i broke both the plastic quarter panel linings, broke the third brake light, even put a few large dents in the ceiling. I would be wheelin it hard and i would see a subwoofer box in my rearview fly 3 feet into the air and slam the ceiling before slamming back into the floor!Qxxx4 wrote:just when i thought fueler couldnt get any more ghetto.
How did you hook up amps and subs to the stock cd/tape player?fukinitupagain wrote:I say hook it up! All I have is a 15" Kove Armagedon in a ported box & a 800watt MTX amp, but still rock the stock CD/tape player (I used to have a pop out screen DVD player but it kinda got broke while I was wheelin about a year ago).
Who cares what everyone else thinks, as long as you are happy with how it sounds.
It was a little converter box thing that all of my wires & sh*t plugged right into & then a single plug went into the back of the stock radio. My neighbor does car audio installations for a living so he brought it home for me.REZN wrote:

where would i be able to find the converter box?fukinitupagain wrote:It was a little converter box thing that all of my wires & sh*t plugged right into & then a single plug went into the back of the stock radio. My neighbor does car audio installations for a living so he brought it home for me.
is there anywhere i can go for a step by step?slickroger wrote:to hook up an amp to your stock head unit
you can use the high level input that is on most amps. all you would have to do is split your rear speaker wires and splice in the high level inout connector.
This will provide you with a similar input as the RCA's. they work effectively i have used them before and for a remote wire you can use the power from your cigarette lighter to turn the amp on or even hook up switch.
hope this helps
