The 2002 3.5 is rated at 240hp and the 2003 3.5 is rated at 245hp.I was told that the extra 5 hp was a result in a better air intake system. This seamed like a valid reason due to the restricted looking air box on my 02.I am at the Nissan dealership right now(I changed the home page on the customer use computer to NICO:D )and I checked this intake thing out in great detail. The intake system is the same on both cars.I am told by the new car manager that he thinks the chip makes the extra 5hp.This is bad news for us 02 owners who are envious of the 5hp diff. because you cant get the chip upgraded or switched without voiding the warrente.

Oh well,at least after I put some more miles on my car ill be able to tune it to maks some more power by a chip upgrade and intake and mufflers.

So its both the intake and the chip make 5 hp, well how much is the chip, and well wouldn't just an after market intake do you better than a new one from Nissan

depending on the intake yea, a nice short ram will probably give u that power to hte wheels alone, without a chip, however when nissan gave me a new intake, they just gave me everything, the whole manifold off of an o3, so why complain, hell it was free!!

maybe the 03 have a special type of altezza from the 02? seems like a valid answer to the "where did 5hp come from?" question

:oface, did i just say that?

I think the 03 interior added the 5hp. That titanium plastic look must have been dyno'd hundreds of times.
