ok, so have you heard of that racer x motorsports? (not quemore's shop) i signed up for that, with high hopes, and i actually got it. 10g's co-op, meaning they pay for about half of the costs, and i get discounted parts and whatnot. it's a 2 year deal, 10g's a year, i gotta go to at least 4 events a year, take pics, sport the decals and whatnot (damnit, damnit, damnit!!!!). i know there's been some controversy sorrounding the legitimacy of this comapny and wahtnot, so any opinions, info, or help?

Its about a scam. They are a parts wholesaler.. any parts they offer you at 'sponsorship discount' can be gotten just about anywhere for the same price.. you mave save 10-20 depending on the part. One of the companies on their partners list told me personaly that the "skyline contest" is a plain lie.

they give you "The oportunity to use $10,000 per year toward the purchase of parts for your vehicle" what they don't tell you is that that is $10,000 in discounts on the parts. Not $10,000 in free parts.

i did call them and i was told that i get between 15% to 50% off retail price of parts, and they pay on average about 35% of that, that also includes labor and i get free dyno time after i spend a certain amount, bust really, i'd much rather get 5000 full sponsorship to SC my car and be done wiht it

Think about it - Why would a company sponsor an average car (no offense)?

Get their best prices on 10 parts, then call Alex at Southwest (our new advertiser). I'll bet he smokes their price.

The best prices you can find on the web will smoke their prices

I honestly don't think these people turned down anyone who applied for the sponsorship. I got a call from them but i turned it down, there's no way in hell i'm going to give them my money. They mention some bullsh*t about a full refund..so If i were you, i would take the refund. These guys 'sponsor' cars that they haven't even seen, now thats some major bullspit.

if you buy ALOT of parts, and have a really high budget.. you could actually save some cash by going with them..

if you dont plan on spending at least $10,000 in upgrades this year alone, forget it.

its not a scam, but its not really a good deal for the average person.
