ok I got spark now and i got gas, my cas is set propertly. the method i used was: On the CAS, there will be two notches on the shaft that are right next to each other. Looking at the CAS with the black cap towards your body, rotate the shaft until the right notch lines up with the notch on the CAS housing. Put the CAS back into the head carefully. If this procedure is done correctly, the second notch on the shaft should now line up with the notch on the housing, and the CAS position (can rotate it +-30 or so degrees...) should be centered. I dont get it still nothing? WTF. anyone had this problem. are yall all dumb r sumthin????

Is it cranking it all or what? Have someone starting the car while another person is outside adjusting the cas and opening the throttle.

it a a rwd red top sr, only bolt-ons and a SAFC2. It turns over fine, checked compression in all 4, 125+psi. I have tryed moving the cas around wile opening and closing the throttle. I am going to try brand new plugs and fuel filter, other than that Im lost..

I pulled the enging 2 years ago cuz of a knock in the lower end. I finally got some money so I had the crank turned .010" and the block bored .020", new pistons and bearrings. new head gasket. I put the engine back togather and droped it inabout a week ago. has not started since. I have check all grounds and vaccume lines are correct. WTF

125 for compression? damn thats kinda low but aslong as they are all around the same number your fine

Did you make sure the motor was at TDC when you installed the CAS? and also did you remove the valve cover to make sure the cas was lining up correctly.. Also maybe try removing your safc or checking your ecu for codes

I put new plugs and fule lines w/ z32 filter. I got a sputter as soon as I tryed starting it, after that I have got nothing. I went over everything, I aint a dumb a**. I disconnected the safc and still nothing. I have dont plenty of sr swaps and have been in the mechanical biz for 12 years. this seems like some freak problem. I am running out of ideas. anyone out there help me out plz.

Having same problem after doing an upgrade on a customer's SR20DET... try unplugging the MAF and see if it will start in"limp mode" you may hafta feather the throttle alittle to allow it to catch idle... if it works let me know....

you have to set engine firing on no.1 cylinder. remove crank sensor and line up dots or markers gear and housing shaft of crank sensor. i think there is another dot higher up the housing that faces top when sliding crank sensor back in. Then you an see if will line up on original position where lock nut used to seat. if so you are sweet to go. If still have trouble you can remove rocker cover to confirm alighnment. But you should be right, close enough for it to start. If time is out with timing light. Then you carfully remove just emough to clear cam then rotate left or right , retard or advance timing. ya want 15deg btdc
