Do you guys think it's safe to have my tires patched? I got nailed 2 times in 1 month. One is on the front passenger side, and the other one is on the back driver's side. It pisses me off . Anyways, I have aftermarket wheels and low profile tires. I bought it 3 months ago.

Usually for tires there's a three strike thing. Patching a tire is only allowed twice per tire, meaning if you get a nail in the same tire three times, the shop isn't supposed to let you drive off with that tire deemed unsafe by regulations.

as long as it's through the tread area it can be treated - sidewalls cannot be fixed. headhunt3r is right, you should not do this a lot.

also note that when you do this, the speed rating on your tire goes away. I would not drive a punctured tire on the track or very hard. Doing this is usually ok for daily driving, not high performance.

So yes, it's safe. Just understand that the tires are not exactly the same - you'll have the same grip, but at the loss of possible performace because the integrity of the tire has changed.

I would never plug the tire i would always get a new one or a pair.

but the main ? 4 u...do you ever travel at 100+mph? or close to it? pluged tires are not safe at those speeds even the shop will tell u that. be safe!!!

What was used to plug the tire? We had this discussion a while back, but if its just a "straw" they shove thru the hole and cut off, thats not going to hold well.

Theres a plug/patch combo thats done from the INSIDE of the tire, did they unmount your tire to patch the hole? those from what i understand are the most reliable.

In any case, its best to order a new tire now so if you do have an issue you dont have to replace it with local tire prices (a fortune).... let that sit in the garage (or your balcony as mine is lol).

Yeah, they unmounted the tire to patch the hole and they rebalance the tire. I hope this will last because I am broke today.

Plan ahead man.. bc if something goes wrong, replacing that rubber will cost you a decent penny if you want it in a hurry... good luck!

That patch should hold IMHO, but dont be pushing it around corners or anything.
