I got my license!

Hey everyone,As some of you know, I am 16 yrs old and building my first car...a 300some hp 240sx fastback. I just took my drivers test on Thursday and passed with flying colors, lol. Just thought I'd share my joy with you guys. We should have a CA meet sometime now that I can actually drive

no, i dont. i had one in there that i got from venus but it was broken internally. i got another built engine and it will be going in in august. if you look through my past posts it shows all my mods, etc.

its hard to decide wether its a good idea for so many young kids to have such powerful cars. their is a 18year old witha green mgb, it has a 5.0L rover v8 with nitrous, the kid has blown up 3 trannies, he brought his third in this week, he was a pretty dumb shmuck, didnt know anything about anything so im guessing he didnt know how to rev match when down shifting either cuz 2nd gear synchro exploded and 2nd gear was worn down to stub. personally i think american drivers licenses should be issued similar to european laws and regulations, over their(depending on country) it can cost you $2K, a drivers class, and you have to wait till your 18. i am 17 and it would suck not having my license but i just think people need to realize what their driving abilities really are, the amount of kids who you ask what they like to drive(aka autox or drag strip) at least half of them say,"nah, i'm a drifter, i drift like theirs no tommorrow, you should see my mad tail slides"...ight, im done venting, plus 300 isnt a insane amount, and your active with the nissan club so you most likely know a thing or two 'bout a thing or two. got any pics of your car? i f-ing love picks of cool cars

It went over pretty well actually. The engine was shipped out on time, etc. The extra parts he promised did not originally show up so I wrote a bunch of e-mails flipping out on him and then he overnighted em. So it went pretty well.

As for elballoonrat-I have been driving since I was 13 and the first car I ever drove was my friend's dad's 1997 Corvette. I've driven a BMW Z3, an M3, and a Jaguar S Type. None of those cars belonged to me and I was careful with them. I will be even more careful with my own knowing that I have put the time and money into it to get it where I want it. I dont call my self a "DrIftA" cuz I've never drifted anything besides messing around with my other friends' 240s. I am not your typical 16yr old riceboy if you havent picked up on that by now.

elballoonrat can tell you I had some crappy luck when i first started driving...I had a 91 MR2, and i took a tight corner a bit too fast (not intentionally) I'd say max of 20mph in the rain...and the back end stepped out on me...sending be into the wall and totaling my 8 day old mr2 .

I'm seriously one of the most careful drivers I know, but $hit happens that sometimes just results from lack of experience!

not that anything bad will happen to that sexy fastback of yours though!;)
