Hey, just to give you guys a heads up, installing the NISMO Air Intakes apparently voids your factory warranty. My VQ35HR Has them along with the grounding kit and the dealership in Buford, GA and North American Nissan is telling me that my warranty is void because of it. It only has 8300 miles on the engine and started idling at 1500 RPM. The dealership is also telling me that the throttle bodies have lost calibration and have to be rebuilt. $$$$

Your warranty shouldn't be void. I met the distict manager for my area and had asked him about the NISMO intakes and if it would void any warranty. I told me no. If it was any other aftermarket intake then yes.

Certain Nismo parts are labelled for off-road only, and those state there are not warrantied. Don't recall it saying it voids your warranty. Anyways there's a law that says unrelated parts cannot be voided by using aftermarket parts on another part of the car.

The law from SEMA on warranties and aftermarket parts:

http://www.sema.org/main/semaorghome.aspx?ID=50096

Quote »The Law

Federal law sets forth requirements for warranties and contains a number of provisions to prevent vehicle manufacturers, dealers and others from unjustly denying warranty coverage. With regard to aftermarket parts, the spirit of the law is that warranty coverage cannot be denied simply because such parts are present on the vehicle, or have been used (see Attachment A).The warranty coverage can be denied only if the aftermarket part caused the malfunction or damage for which warranty coverage is sought. Disputes in this area usually boil down to arguments over facts and technical opinions, rather than arguments over interpretations of the law.[/quote]I'd double check the conditions of the warranty, but I'm pretty certain by the information stated from SEMA that you are covered unless that part causes a malfunction to another part you're trying to get serviced under warranty. (Ex. Your intake takes in water and damages your engine. Your intake is at fault and NOW your engine is no longer under warranty)

Don't let them try to scare or bully you. It's the law.

Yeah, thats what i thought too man! Now there telling me it's because I replaced the spark plugs and somehow the throttle bodies ( the butterflys inside them) lost calibration. I put the same factory plugs ( brand new of course ) back in it and the car ran great for three months! How in the hell could they lose calibration all by their lonesome? The problem that im having with the car is it started idling at about 1200RPM and the CEL came on. So far, the dealership already has me down for $2000.00 dollars. They decided to replace both of the throttle bodies. I cant even get someone who speaks good english at 800-Nissan1 ! Let me know if you think any of this crap sounds messed up to you guys. Appreciate the support. I emailed the links to the dealership to hopefully change their damn mind.

well over by where I live, the dealer told me that it doesn't void my warranty at all.if i was to use some other kind of brand besides NISMO then it would void my warranty.so i believe it should be the same for all NISSAN dealers....
