You can see how one of them looks extra clean. They all look good enough to install, good o rings, connectors and whatnot. but I have heard about evo injectors being way off. Like 3 out of 4 will flow 600 and the other will flow 570 or something of the sort. I don't know why they are so underated to begin with.Question is should i send them out to be tested and spend the 50 or so bucks or just wing it?

spend the cash to have them tested and cleaned. 50$ is not much when it comes to the main component in your engine either lasting or destroying itself.

The next set of injectors i put in my car will def. be flow tested and ultrasonic cleaned if necessary. It is pretty cheap and generally a quick turn around if you're not doing it locally.

Even with a wideband you can not be sure of individual injector condition. Look at this example, you're aiming for 12.5 AFR, you spend loads of money on tuning equip and dyno tuning. One of you're injectors is dirty causing less fuel to go into that cylinder than calculated. This cylinder is lean and will also lean out the AFR you're wideband is seeing. Thus you will think that overall the engine is running lean, and you will increase you're fuel across the board. Now you have 3 cyl's running rich, and 1 running lean, even though each injector sees the same pulse width and fuel pressure @ the rail.

1-11.92-11.93-11.94-12.7

Something like that. Regardless, 50 bucks could have gotten you 3 safer cylinders and 1 more powerful cylinder, and overall a better tuned engine =D

Clean them and test them.

Mistu injectors, especially the Eclipse ones, have a habit of sticking completely open or closed. I know a few Honda guys who had issues with them. I know an eclipse guy who had issues with his, and I won't go near Eclipse injectors.

jt, I think you meant to say one was running rich, causing you to run all the others lean. In any rate, its a good point, and it is definitely worth the $50 to have them cleaned.
