Hi I got a 85 300zx and I was replacing oxygen sensor and i saw my manifold on the side by the throttle is cracked Im problly gonna have to take the bus now untill i can save up for some pacesetter headers cause I dont want to use another gay stockone unless I upgrade the engine to turbo. What do you think would be more expensive the new headers from pacestetter are about $200.00 and Ill probly need the exhaust kit with it another $250. do you think I could turn my NA into a turbo for that. Thanks.

Well, if you were to ask me whether to put on marginal-quality headers and a new restrictive exhaust or spend a little more to do the NA2T conversion, it would be a no-brainer. I'd spend a little more and go turbo. I've never done the conversion as my 84 is a factory turbo, but I would imagine your price will really depend on the source. I bought my running turbo car for $850 in 2004.

But if your immediate need is reliable transportation, that would certainly factor into your decision. Personally, I don't mind public transportation and I walk to work almost every day.

NA2T for the win

how bd si the crack? a cracked manifold isn't enough of a reason to park the car, it just makes it sound kinda like a stuck lifter

if your end goal is a turbo conversion, why waste money on parts the won'tcarry over, the passanger side manifold and rear crossoverpipe are the same as the turbo, only the drivers side is different, and if you plan to convert you'll either need to swap in the turbo crossmsmber etc, or just get the satan manifold that locates the turbo up front
