Cliff Notes at the bottom. But read to see if my car is running slower than should be.
I got beat by an Eagle Summit. WTF?! Ok, first off I don’t condone street racing nor take part in it for most obvious safety reasons and because I know my 93 stock 240SX fastback (what and oxymoron) is pretty slow. But… recently I think it’s been running slower than normal for no reason, although it runs great mechanically, it idles fine, no smoke, and the oil has been changed religiously, and it only has 82K miles on it, yada yada yada. So I’ve wanted to run against another equal car to see what the deal was.
So I’m in the left lane at a stop light on a 2 lane road. The right lane merges into the left lane about a ¼ after the light. This P.O.S. white 4 door Eagle Summit pulls up into the left lane. The hood and front bumper are from a black car and don’t fit properly. The driver looks more than INCOMPITENT like the average 21 year old McDonalds worker. There’s a GIANT dual base box probably from Wal-Mart in the back, and generally the car looks like a slow P.O.S. Which it should be!
So the light turns, he launches and squeals the tires, I don’t because I figured I could whoop him anyway. I shift at redline like a dumbass every time, and his car sounds a bit louder which is odd, because I have the resonator removed on my air box and the KA is a loud freaking motor to begin with. He was dead even through 1st and halfway through 2nd, and that’s when he started to creep past and barely made it by an *** hair in front of me before the lane ended. But still WTF?! I looked up this car and these are the specs, ENGINE: 1.8L 113 hp I4, HORSEPOWER: 113 @ 5500 RPM, TORQUE: 116 @ 4500 RPM. Now how is this possible?! What do you guys think?
Cliff Notes:S13 240SX Fastback vs. Eagle Summit 4 Door
Nissan – Engine: 2.4L 155 hp I4 Horsepower: 155 @ 5600 RPM Torque: 156 @ 4400 RPM
VS.
Eagle – Engine: 1.8L 113 hp I4 Horsepower: 113 @ 5500 RPM Torque: 97 @ 3000 RPM
WINNER: Eagle Summit 4 Door
