I am using an 1st generation 18det block(S12/early fwd maybe...) on an 2nd generation head(180sx style), and On the outlet pipe for my lower heater core hose there was an inlet like this: It used to get vacum from the throttle body...I am guessing to aide in expelling water out. Now, what I am wondering is if i ran an hose from this outlet i got coming out of my lower radiator outlet:If it would infact aide in helping expel the water out of the engine and into the heater core...or I could just plug it up like I did the outlet on my lower rad hose outlet. Anyways...any help/suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

not vacuum!!!!

part of the coolant/heater system runs through the throttlebody to help keep it from freezing closed in cold weather / whatever.

You really need to look at the FSM etc on how this all hooks up..

props for the spark plug plug tho :D

Click for water hose & piping..

also see sections 144. 214 and 278 (you'll see it mentioned in the diagram)..

keep in mind these are JDM so if you're LHD you won't be having the pipes crossing behind the engine, but instead going straight back-ish.

ok....judging by that diagram then there is an actual small inlet on the 2nd gen blocks...but i cant figure out on that diagram where it goes to. Also, in that diagram, i didnt see the outlet that I plugged...so I am guessing that it doesnt exist on the 2nd gen blocks.

Oh, and I am lhd...i am an s12 hatch...lol.

the one you blocked off would either go to oil cooler possibly or to the heater core via partcode 14075 in section 211, depending ... most likely.

You don't appear to have an OEM oil cooler, and if you have a seperate T (see partcode 21068 in the diagram) off the main outlet of that connection to go back to the heater, then blocking it is ok (although you'll want to get a real blockoff of some kind.. most likely you can find a close enough sized cap at your local oreilly's or autozone in the emergency parts crap)..

Yah, so I think I am going to just block off both of them. I will go to napa here in an couple of days and get an real cap off...I kind of was looking all over the shop for something good to block it off, and I looked over and saw my old dead 12a rotary engine on the floor and was like, ahah!!
