lately my car has been overheating die to a blown seal in my water pump but i replaced it allready and i replaced the thermostat also but used one from kregan..... i know i should have used a oem but i needed one fast. My question is i bleed the system like 3 times, i even shook the car too to get every bit out. My car still overheats! so i checked the hoses the top hose is hot and the bottom hose to the thermostat is cold does that mean that the thermostat won;t open? if so why? i have my oem but it gets stuck open. would running without do anything but take forever to warm up till i get a new one from nissan. My last question is running a nismo or sard thermostat really worth it? i don't auto-x but could use it later on for furture safety. If anyone can help with any of these i would greatly appreciate it!

Be sure to bleed the system with the heater on.

So are you telling me that you have to sit there with Antifreeze and the odd bubble spewing out of the bleeder valve for like 10 -30 mins as you wait for all the bubbles to burp out of the coolant system while the car is running and the heater is on vent mode?

Also raising your front end will help too while doing it. But thats pretty much it.

One of the top indicators of a blown head gasket. Depending on what part of the gasket is bad, you may or may not have other symptoms. Overheating, coolant in the oil, oil in the coolant, etc dont necessarily happen in all cases.

My brother used some of that "head gasket in a can" or whatever its called sealant on a Chevy V6 (3.4..? I think). Worked for over a month until he traded it in. But his was leaking between the head and the block, out the side of the block. I dont think it will work in your case, yours sounds like its blown between a cylinder and one of the coolant passages, allowing cylinder pressure to leak into the cooling system, and thats a lot of pressure to hold back with some goop in a bottle.

yep, figured it out its pressure leaking into the coolent system. thats why it over heats and bubbles like crazy, well i took the thermostat so it doesn't over heat i'm gonn ride it for as long as i can untill i get enough money to change the head gasket and stuff. Anyone wanna bet how long the motor will last???
