I got a SR swap in my 90 240 with a FMIC, top mount exhaust manifold, custom down pipe, turbo back, double layer Koyo alu. radiater and 2 14' eletric fans. Well my problem is when i rev my RPMs up high and release it they trop fine but in about 1 to 2 seconds latter my SR starts to sputer and sounds like it wants to turn off even some times it does, stays like that for a few more seconds than just idles fine after that. It olny does that when i rev the RPMs high than releases it..... What could be the problem?

base idle seting on the iac may be to low. disconnect purple plug at iac and turn idle compensation plug (black phillips screwdrive plug) until desired idle is set. you must due this with engine fully warmed up to temp.

Could be a symptom of running a bit too rich - like from a small air leak. I'm dealing with the same issue now. Already fixed one leak on the turbo coupling which made the 'bogging' much less. Working on the 2nd leak now at a vacuum tube and hoping that fixes it.

I used a small air compressor, a homemade fitting and a spray bottle of soapy water to find the leaks. Here's the thread I used:

Could be other things, like coolant temp sensor or O2 sensor gone bad, but usually they're pretty bad when they go south - like black-cloud rich. (had to replace both in my blacktop)

I had a similar issue as this, not a 240, but same concept. It turned out to be clogged injectors. So you could always try to run some injector cleaner through and see if it helps things.
