yes you need them, and yes leave the stock ones with stock turbo.

i guess to answer that you need to ask yourself this - do you want lots of compressor surge and do you want to run unlimited boost?

anyway try reading about turbos - the book Maximum boost by Corky Bell is a good one

iam not sure bout the surge but i would like to run the most boost i can. iam new to this turbo stuf.

Man you can't just run more boost lol It takes alot to do so..and on an rb20 a tune and 12psi is what you can run safely on the stock setup....with the injectors screaming for mercy.
