no, cause that means you have 0 oil pressure if its at zero. that's not good

the more gas you add the more pressure, less gas less pressurewhen you add more gas the crankshaft runs faster and require more lubricating for the pistons. Therefore the pump needs to work harder to provide more oil for the pistons. i have just noticed it but if your car runs on idle your pressure should run at around 20psi or even less when you floor it will will go as much as 60psi or a little over

could also be a bad sender, this is a problem on older Z's the oil gauge sender becomes very non-linear and shows ) at idle and one over 30 psi or so it starts working, might be worth replacing the sender, unless you engine is ticking like crazy, in which case your oil pump is dead and youre engine could blow up at any time, lets hope it's just the sender

and you did check your oil level and your filter isn't unscrewed...right

My '91 NA was reading low, then high, then low, but more often low. Manual showed "OK" from about 10 to 70. Not a good enough answer for me. Had sender replaced. Now, is about 65+ from cold. When warm just over 30 at idle and maintains 55+ to 60 (2500 and up RPM) normal driving. Much better and cheap fix. Sender from dealer $98.00. Easy fix of about 20 minutes - if you know what you are doing. Sender has small hole, about dia of pencil lead or less. Not surprising that after 15 years sender gets wacked out. At zero, I would check it out yesterday!
