I got a question about my 81 720 4x4

Hi I was wondering did the 81 720 4x4 come with power steering or no?

My Haynes Nissan\Datsun pick up 1980 -1997 just say 81 4cyl just had a steering gear but the previous owner said the one prier to him took out the power steering I'm not sure as to which it actually had, And I am just wanting to restore it not upgrade it. And does any one know where I could possible buy one at, possible not to spendy because I got limited funds.

Well im not sure if the 4x4's steering would be different than a 2wd but I have an 81 720 2wd and it just has a steering box. Im not too sure a power steering box would fit in there either seeing as how theres really not much room, but then again my trucks 2wd so it may be different. Think you could post a pic of the engine bay where the steering box is?

Um no I cant But from going over my truck I found out a few things and I am puzzled here? Yes it was updated to power steering then later taken out all place I found to get one want the core I dont have it and never will.. But what is confusing is I now, know its not cali but federal. I was told by the last owner it was cali and he nor I have even tried yet to register it because of smog laws, but it has an cali carb on it, a cat, and mine is a manual 5sp 4x4 so why did it also have a dashpot. I am thinking its a mutt Frankenstein truck......But I am so close to smoging it!
