i got a new trunk from junk yard, latch is not closing right.

alright, so i got a new trunk from the junkyard, paid 162$ for it, its black and has minor paint scratches on it, so much better and cheaper to fix then the trunk with 20 hail dings.

Anyways, the problem is that the trunk doesnt close all the way, it locks in, but it is loose, and rattles around when i drive, like it doesnt go all the way down, so i can push it down all the way but it pushes itself back up, so theres a good 1/2 inch freeplay.

anyone know how to adjust the trunk latch or whats going on?today i went back and took the latch off my old trunk and put it on the new one, still does it..
