Ok guys, i hadnt posted for a while because no one would throw in their 2 cents on my problem and after i got the car close to being ready, i tried to fix the problem of it not holding any coolant. I fuond a hole in the block the about 2 inches wide where a freeze plug shuold be. One guy told me i had to pull the motor to get a new one put in, another said if their is room i may not have to. After that i was pissed and when i went to go see if i fixed the boosting problem, i put the jumper cables on backwards and not after its jumped, if i pull the cables off, it dies and now i cant even jump it anymore so im just about finished. I bought an ae86 for $300 yesterday that runs well and will get me around town so if i cant fix this soon, its going away. Can anyone tell me why it wont start anymore, and what the hell do you do about a freeze plug blowing out?

Hey Nick,

Could you be a little more specific when you say it won't start (ie, won't fire, starter won't rotate, etc). Could've smoked your batter, the fusible links on the positive battery terminal harness or anything relating to continuous power.

Well we would hook up the jumper cables, wait a couple minutes, turn the key and it would turn over maybe once then die. After letting it charge for longer, i got it to fire for a couple of seconds, then it dies again so i quite caus it was cold. I may be able to get it started, but i still have the boost problem where it stumbles at about 4 lbs. It just looses all power and if i keep giving it gas, after i let off it will pop and probly shoot a flame. I have boost leak tested the entire system, even the intake mani, what is the problem?

Why don't you post a picture of your set-up. Sounds like you have some problems around your AFM or intercooler area. You should not be losing boost if your system is sealed properly and your turbo works, regardless if your engine is a bit worn. Maybe your wastegate is stuck open just enough to give you dramas. But because you said it pops, kind of offset a theory or two.

Ill get some pics up tonight. The turbo does smoke after driving a bit. Now i say the turbo smokes, it may be smoke coming from the block because that freeze plug hole is right below it. Ill see what i can do but i got some guys coming to take a look at it this weekend and if they will buy it for $2500 its gone and ill get a vert .
