Wow!

And from reading your sig., no particular performance mods. It does say you have a 4.08, but that just can't be right - can't do 180 with a 4.08 rear end.

Did you reach 7200 rpm?

Heheh, I bet that transmission was a tad warm when you finished.

Al Holbert set a FIA land speed record of 177 MPH in a catalytic converter equipped stock [in] Aug 7,1986 Porsche 928 [5 liter 288 HP 3500 pounds] at Bonneville but that's at 4300 AMSL.

How long was that runway? Seems like if would take you a couple miles to top out, and most of a mile to slow down without melting the rotors.

15,000 ft.? Ex-military base?

180 is just 40 mph slower than a F1 car:

July 19, 2006

Just how fast is a Formula One car? That question was answered, at least partially, on Monday morning at around 8am local time at the Bonneville Salt Flats, when Alan van der Merwe piloted a race legal Honda 007 along a seven mile-long salt straight, achieving a speed of 220.571mph

Might want to do a transmission flush first. That's serious thermal stress at 180!

Oh and check the tires over too.

Let me guess - you saw "The Worlds Fastest Indian" - and you just had to...

Thats pretty impressive, I had my g50 @160 on an open highway, and it was still pulling. G50's are f-ing tanks! A video would be certainly appreciated.

Just wondering what happend at 180. Did you run out of room, or was it just not pulling any more, or what?

Bare in mind he did this with a 1995 which has a front grill that adds to drag and weighs more than a 90-93.

Congratulations! You have made everyone here want the opportunity to test their car to the limits . If you do this run again, like everyone else said, please make a video. I would love to see the speedo and revs.

I wonder who's rear you have to kiss to get some time at the GM proving grounds near my house? They have a large oval I believe to do high speed tests.....
