I found a company that will build and install a custom turbo set up but,

Before I even start. I want it to run as well as it does now, no bucking, no hesitation and I want it to be as smooth as a bowling ball with the same reliability it has currently.

What I would like to know is how much horsepower/torque can a 99t drivetrain take before breaking do you think? The company I am talking to can do a single or twin turbo set up, yes it is expensive between 7 to 9 grand, however it would be one beast of a car, and depending on boost it could break the six hundred horsepower range.

The two things I am most concerned with would be the electronics. I have no idea if anyone makes a programmer or even if a program for our cars exsist. Second the transmission, I doubt anyone makes a shift kit, better stall converter and or a fully built transmission either.

Any help would be appreciated. If I think I am getting in too much over my head I may buy an older Mustang and turn that into a toy but I thought I could "maybe" do the turbos on the Q and have something unique.

It would be priceless to pull up next to a Vette with three of your friends on the interstate and run off and leave him so badly it makes him look like he is backing up and still have the air condition on.

Im gonna give a halfass reply this time around because I want to see what others have to say..... See what kind of information is floating around....

I agree with you that the electronics are gonna be a pain. The ECU really cant be reprogrammed youd have to use some sort of piggy back ECU which works but I really dont like.

On a stockish motor with the 270cc injectors (the VH45 came with 370s, good to 400-450HP at least on pump gas), your not gonna even hit 400HP (maybe 6lbs of boost at the MAXIMUM).... Upgrading your injectors will only get you to the 400HP range, where you run into compression problems...

600HP VH41 is gonna be tough to make, your gonna have to do some custom engine work, and some cam work because the stock valve springs are gonna float at anything much above 6lbs (theyre only like 120# springs)...

I knew i shouldnt have even started because i knew i would babble on like that....

All of this is even harder to deal with due to OBDII.

I think you would have to spend a lot more time on transmission and cooling, at the minimum. That would be a lot more heat to dissapate and power to handle.

400HP should be sufficient, unless you want a mountain of lag.

Then there are the custom engine internals if you want it to live.
