I fought hard, and nissan is now confused about the seatbelt issue.

well, after two weeks of waiting nissan called and said that my car was finally ready and the seat belts were done... I get there and only the lap belt was done, so i was like ... so i tell that guy that they only did like 45% of the work... So i waited and him and the parts guy come to me and said that only the belt itself is covered with the liftime warrany... so again im like ... So after about 30min of going back and forth with the service guy and him going back an forth with the parts place... Then he comes to me and gives me some s*** about the seatbelt... so i tell him that i know for a fact that the whole thing is covered... and so out of nowhere he turns the computer around and tells me prove it... so i go to NICOclub.com and go to search and type in "seatbelts" then go to nicc_dett's thread asking if nissan will fix his seatbelts... and i go to the secong page and show him this

and hes like oh s***... i gotta print this out... so he said that hell call me cuz he has to talk to the manager and the nissan place to see what he should do...

So i have my car now cuz i gotta repair my blown head gasket and hopefully soon they will be ordering the correct part and doing the right work

The entire mechanism is under warranty. "seatbelt, and related component" includes the motor and everything.

What an ignorant jerk.

That's funny. That picture you posted of that manual. A friend and I just found that manual in a s13 in a junkyard. Now we have the actual proof. Win.

I still have the original manual in my car, but my seatbelts work fine for now. I'm sure it'll come in handy one day though.

So would it be considered work properly if they take forever to go forward and back... and sometimes you have to un buckle the belt for it to move?I would love for new ones... or just throw the automatic crap away!!!

Sounds like your belt's motor is just about worn out. Go get it replaced.

A helpful word of advice for anyone getting this done.If you have an intermittant issue, then nissan wont fix it.Mine only acts up once or twice a year, and after i cuss at it, and look at it the right way, it will work. The last time i unhooked the motor, and took it in.As soon as they plugged it back in everything worked fine.I have been through this 3 times ,and the belt worked every time they try to diagnose it.I completely understand why they are not going to replace the whole works, if it is just a bad seatbelt module or relay acting intermittantly. They aren't going to fix more than what has to be done.

These dudes behind the parts counter are never helpful. They play dumb and try to make you you feel stupid. You showed him.

I think our owner with manuals should scan the page for every model year. Incase they say this is for a 1993, you have a 1991.

haha, i saw john howard and thought to myself. Hmm there's a john howard here too! then saw motown. Yea we should have a small meet, or at least all hit up JHmotors at the same time for a group seatbelt fix, lol. I'm sure they'll enjoy that.
