I moreso like the prestige mode of cod4, you can actually rank up every three or so games and keeps you wanting to play. Sometimes on vegas the ranks were so long i didnt want to play lol. Some of the people on there who were at top rank must have NO LIFE!!! i cant imagine how many hours it took.
If cod4 had the cover system that vegas does, i think it would be the "be all end all" of shooters.
Its not necessarily that they have no life. R6V, like many other games, is very exploitable. People figured out ways to make a lot of points in a hurry. The one I remember is that people would make a 20 minute team sharpshooter PLAYER match. He would then quit and make a 20 minute RANKED match with the rounds set at 20. They play the game as usual. Everyone is told not to touch anything when the game is done, if anyone does it doesnt work. At the end of the game when the point total comes up, the host hits start, then a, then start again and selects the team sharpshooter mode again. If noone touched anything a new game would start. Usually the teams would take turns killing themselves. Killing your team only takes a few seconds, and you would earn the full 20 minute match points (i.e. 800+ points when the other team kills themselves). You were able to do this indefinitely as long as noone presses anything when the 20 rounds are up again.
I think they might have fixed that a while ago, I'm not totally sure because I havent played R6V in a while. I let my buddy play it a long time ago and still havent bothered getting it back. There are similar tricks in CoD4, but luckily I think they are less prevalent. Hopefully R6V2 will be a little more airtight.
