after a few weeks, i've pinpointed where the rattling is. its the cloth or carpet or whatever it is that covers the top of our cars interior. its near the sunroof! i thought it was the seatbelt or coins in the cupholder. but it feels like it wasn't put on properly. like they taped it up or something. the noise is unbearable even if my music is up to volume 20-25. what should i do!?? :

Get a better stereo perhaps?

Or I could sell you the butt ugly sunroof wind deflector that came with my A/C for cheap.

Call the dealership and make an appointment. If they tell you that they can't recreate the noise or find it, knock em out , tie 'em up and strap their a$$ in the car and drive them around till they hear the noise

God I wish I could do that everytime something is wrong with my car. I am hearing more and more rattles and squeaks now that it is getting cold out. I can't stand it and I can't track it down.

I think most of the noises we hear are comming from Velcro.Velcro is being used in a number of places in the sunroof/headliner.

If you look through your sunroof from the top.Gently push down on the headliner and look around. You will see certain places where verco is installed.

I think it is simply working loose and causing a lot of "creaking" and "rattling".

I put a piece of thick tape between one of the velcro pieces close to the dome light area, and the noise went away. I hear other creaking noises, and they seem to be comming from other areas in the headliner. Checked out one, and sure enough, there was a piece of Velcro there also. Have not had time to fix or try to yet, but I will.

Interesting.... Something to look into. Just came back from lunch and heard a rattling from what seemed to be near the 3rd eye brake light or somewhere around there. Add it to the list I guess.

I had to get my whole headliner replaced and im sure there is a Service Bulletin by now for this. So go to your dealership and tell them that you know enough other A/C owners who had to get their roof liners replaced. I had this problem the first summer of owning the car. And they had to fix it 3 times, and the 3rd time they replaced the whole thing. Also, with the rear decklid if you take off the 3rd brake light you will see there is a plug there and that plug is what actually rattles and also you guys will notice if you are going over rough pavement or grooved pavement where there is construction going on, the 3rd brake light will rattle against the rear window. The dealership fix the decklid because the guy who was installing the roofliner did a shat job of putting everything back together, there were some clips missing. Anyways, they put felt type tape on the all the clips and decklid lining and it helped. But getting back to that plug, I taped it to the body with 2 pieces of duct tape so it doesn't move around and it seemed to work.

However, with the roofliner there is still some rattling which I can only attribute to the overall poor quality of workmanship coming from the Smyrna plant. Nothing else you can do. But make sure you talk to your service manager, threaten to go to Nissan if they don't do what you are asking. Don't let them treat you like an idiot. Patience, Persistence and Complaining pay off! I got a NISMO catback and Eibachs for $500 installed out of it!

Goodluck!

Thats great news..... I guess. I swear I heard something rattling from around the Third Eye Brake light but it is hard to diagnose while driving. I hope that helps. Now I just have to pinpoint where the noise in my dashboard is coming from. It sounds like A-Pillars or maybe the windshield, but I can't duplicate the sound.
