I wonder how much extra? Did he pay $1600 for all of that. If that is the case wish i had gotten in on that deal. I wonder how much a whole clip like his and shipping is?

When they strip the front clip down do they send you the body panels too?

ThanksShawn

Yes its been about that long... i explaned everything on my other post.. but ill explain it again...

They sent a bad engine i guess and they took it back before i even got there.... They told me they were really sorry and said i would have a new one by the 15th of febuary... no hard feelings... we all make mistakes... they told me i was the first one that this has ever happend to.. and told me it would be the last and would never make this mistake again...

So ill have a new one by the 15th... ill let u all know on the 15th....

Flashoptions has been really great to deal with so far. :Werd

If anyone has done this swap on their own lemem know how it went and what was the hardest part... thanks...

implicit, the power steering stuff is really simple!, the hardest part in my opinion was getting the motor back onto the mounts, youll also need the Dohc guages, are you getting jsut a motor set? if you had a clip all that stuff would be there. really its not all that hard of a swap. i had more trouble changing the thermostat on the 90 then swaping in a Ca18det, course many problemns arose after the install, itll take some time and patience thats for sure, mines taken from dec 10th to present just to get to drive it around the block and i still have crap poping up and holding it back.

Yes, JeffDaJackAss ones is very complicated.1st ) He made payments via paypal (something which sellers is very afraid of it) -- we're afraid they might refund the money. So verify he's a legit customer we will have to wait until it way pass 30 days. We usually send it out on the 20th day and then once it pass 30 days and paypal email us , that they can't refund the money, we will send the (BILL OF LADING out).

2nd) He's motor was a bad conditioned one, it's our mistake , we cause him to wait unnecessary for our mistake. For our mistake we've GAVED HIM A #62 MINES SR20DET S13 ECU. -- NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES --

3rd) I agree with time consuming , and jeffdajackass is not our 2nd customer, we have almost 28 customer last month alone itself. So far approximetly 20-30 customer have receive the motors, it's just a couple few from nico forum.

Anyway .. wait and see JEff's answers on his motor and condition of it..

Can't wait for more orders..

till then,Flashoptions

How did you Mistakenly send him a bad conditioned motor? Havent you said that you do check your motors before sending them? Did it just happen to make it through the 'inspection' by mistake? Or was it tried to be passed off as a good motor, unless he complained, then you'd go back, and say it was a mistake....It seems to me, that most reputable shops dont 'have' 'bad conditioned' motors, and let alone ship one out, by 'mistake'.....

Its great when a shop does fix the problem, and try to make it better....but its one of those things....should it of happened in the first place? and 'could' it theoretically happen again?

Like we've said for a long time...its not that its untrusted, but its proven that if you go with one of the reputable shops (often mentioned on this board), that you will be getting a good motor, and those places get the reputation, because they have never sent out a 'bad' motor....We've also said, yes, you might get a great deal, but your also taking the chance that you might get a dud...are you willing to take that chance to save a couple bux? or would you rather spend a couple more, to get something you know will be good quality....piece of mind, ya know...its valuable, and often does cost a little extra, but well worth it IMO....

I know that if one of those shops sent out a 'bad conditioned' motor, and even though they coreected it, it might say something about their repuation for the future..

I gotta agree. I can't see how you can "mistakenly" send out a bad motor to be shipped halfway around the world.

Well here's my .02 if it matters to anyone. No i don't have a sr20 hell i don't even have a 240 but i'm hoping to get one soon and i'll probably get my sr20 from dauntt because he put up with all my newbie questions(and was nice about answering them) when i started looking into a 240, he has a hella good prices on engines and accessories, cause he has a good reputation, and a good warranty.

Now, i have nothing against flashoptions because i have no experience with them and therefore i can't comment on their services. I see what you guys are saying about "mistakenly" sending a bad motor and all but the way i see it they made up for their what happened whether it was a mistake or not. I mean they're giving him a Mines ECU FREE of charge for the inconvenience...i don't know how much a mine's ecu is worth but i'm sure it's not cheap. I think that flashoptions even paid the shipping for the old motor back to them?I mean the motor could've been perfectly fine mechanically wise...just a little dirty and poorly packed etc. but they replaced it based on what he told them, not that he did but he(or anyone for that matter) could've gotten an engine and purposly messed it up and said that it was like that when they got it and flashoptions replaced it no problem...how many places would do that for someone...To me that shows how intent they are to make a good name for themselves and get some credibility under them. Because we all know the one of the best ways to get more business is by word of mouth and if you treat your customers like complete sh*t they're sure as hell not gonna refer anybody to you.

So the way i see flashoptions seems to be a good place to deal with considering they more than made up for what happened, whether it was a mistake or not, they still made up for it and that's all that matters.

So don't go bashing someone because something bad happened (once again mistake or not) and because you're skeptical...even though it is human nature to be skeptical of such a good deal. Just wait for them to make a reputation for themselves (good or bad) then you can judge them.

Just remember that every business has to start somewhere and build up a reputation...and that's what they're trying to do.

Thanks for bearing with the lengthyness...sorry if i offended anybody but that's just how i see it.

Peace,-Jon-

Edit: and since this will probably come up eventually i'll go ahead and answer it...no i do not work for flashoptions and i'm not affiliated with them....i'm simply giving my perspective on the situation.

I've got a couple hundred miles on my engine now and it runs great and seems very strong. Flashoptions was very good with me. The only thing I got that didn't work is the tach. Other than that I'm very happy

Keep us updated! I'm extremely interested in that CA18DET clip setup...

I'll be wanting to buy within a month or two.
