I have finally found a Cold Air intake for 89-90 nissan 240sx's!!!! This is made by K&N so I know that is a good intake.

16HP/20 FT LB torque!!!!!

It can be found at alot of places. (1) Here is the link to a site that sells it and (2)Here is the link to K&N's site.

ya, it won't give you that much HP unless you put a nitrous fogger in it...

on a honda. I read somewhere on here that someone said 240 intakes are actually designed pretty well. honda intakes, on the other hand, are a maze. took the whole intake system off my friends prelude, it looks like an ant colony.

Nope. Keith is right...expect more like a 2-5 hp gain from an aftermarked intake. Unless you have headers and a hotter cam to go along with it, an intake's effect is going to be pretty minimal. Look at the graphs for some of the cars in K&N's website - they're averaging about 4 hp for a 4 cylinder engine (Civics, PT Cruiser etc).

16hp/20lbs-ft is a MAX benefit for all the cars they make that intake for, and you'll usually only achieve that gain with a big six or eight-cylinder motor with a pretty restrictive stock intake. Even a lid for my LS1 won't generate that much extra power - maybe 10hp max and that's on a 5.7 liter mill that loves nothing more than extra breathing room.

It is kinda a cold air intake you guys, There is a seal where it covers the actual intake filter and blocks the filter from taking in any air from the engine compartment. The only possible air it can get is the air that is under the car. I am actually planning on making my own CAI using PVC piping. I know that this may sound rediculous but it is true. My uncle did it on his acura integra and got really good performance out of that.

I can tell you right now that if I never got 16 hp from a cold air intake on my LT1 Trans Am, you certainly ain't going to get it on an NA s13 240sx, or any otherwise stock 240sx. You wouldn't even come close to a 16hp increase at the flywheel, let alone to the wheels.

Expect 2-5hp, and a nice engine note under heavy throttle.

Intake will probably yield more to a car that is more than just a stock engine.

But yes you are dreaming if you think you're going to get 16hp/20 lb tq, please supply scanned dyno sheets from your car before and after the install to prove us wrong :)

I'm not trying to flame you, just stating the very cold truth.

yes... you will NEVER get 16hp gain from an CAI on your car....trust us... or do the research yourself..

sorry for the bad news.. oh and it's never "only" 16hp... every HP you gain is quite a bit...especially on old cars like ours....

16hp is what they gained when they found the car with the most clogged air fileter in the world, barely breathing, and put their filter on. Heck, with a basic paper filter on the same care they might have gained 14 hp. If your car ain't breathing, it ain't puttin out.

How companies are allowed to advertize the HP gains, who knows. Its never as it seems. Every car is different, one may get 10hp another 8hp. Its all in the total package makeover you give your car. Everything works together.
