if you guys remember i had a boost spike and it busted something...i saw a little cream color in my oil pan and i have white smoke so i guess its a blown headgasket. compressison 150 150 100 130...but! i finally fixed the boost spike and still went booosting lol...it was great..held 8psi with my new Tial wastegate. the crappy SSA wastegate was broken. its funny i can only boost 3 times and UPHILL and then my motor needs a cooldown lol...

well cutting to the chase...here the pics!

just a normal picture of my ride inside my garage...i love it more than my gf (ssshhhh) dont tell her..soon to be rocking a pintotech sticker hopefully because anthony helped me so much

relocated battery to the back...the main battery died so i had to use another one to jumpstart it lol...dual batterys! and maybe some traction??

now for the good stuff

who likes my blue hose lol...and yeah i know its a big mess..but oh well i love it

the result of a tangential turbo with an on center rev hard manifold...very tough to clear and fit..gonna be a ***** to take off the head to change the gasket

well thats it for now...i think i took like 8 months to turbo..sigh noob...but 1 week before entering college i can finally boost with no issues what so ever...pulls great and in the winter break when i come home from college i will fix my car and use this car as a daily driver....this is my first time ever turboing a car

a BIG BIG BIG thanks to anthony (structure) i have been literally bothering him everyday for help...he is the reason how i even finsihed and got this thing running. the real reason i took so long was because i am a very busy man. i will be sporting his stuff on my car. but yeah..thanks a lot anthony..you've literally taught me almost everything i know about turbo lol...

Pretty sweet though. I remember the first time I felt boost like that... I couldnt stop rolling the throttle over and over again. Awesome feeling. I'm happy for ya man.

And hey, TIE THAT BATTERY DOWN! What kinda mickey mouse operation are you runnin!? lol

boost spike is when boost first hits it "spikes" or goes higher than what is wanted or set.

say you have an 8psi wastegate. when you nail the throttle it goes to 12psi and comes back down, it spiked. think about a graph very pointy in the middle for a breif amount of time.

if can blow your motor if you do not have the fuel and tunning for that much boost. in steven's case the wastegate seemed to not be working at all making the boost hit 15-20psi while is fuel system is only good for about 10psi. only reason that his motor isnt completely toast yet is because he has an msd btm and at that much boost there is alot of timing retard with the btm

Please clean it up so it is not done poorly and risks catching fire at any minute! That battery wiring in the engine bay is very unsafe.

colorado...the wires are strapped in tight but yeah ill make sure to tape it off the power...everything else is fine...i dont see what you mean by catching on fire

Nice. I can't wait for mine.. I am still in the process of rebuilding the motor..I need to get parts to build it. I like the Recirc. hose...its so bright it looks like it is photochoped in there.. congrats..hopefully I will be able to add my car to the KA-T list soon too.

Ahh my eyes!....Blue hose... so... much pain.. j/k

Looks good (not the hose lol), you could use some zipties/electrical tape on the wires to make everything look cleaner i'm sure you will do all of that type of stuff as time passes. good job dude have fun with her!

just went boosting today again....felt a lot of power loss even though i had good AFR's...in the 11's during boost...im not sure if its because of the blown headgasket or my ecu is pulling timing automatically + my btm is also retarding timing....but im already heading off to college next week so theres no time to borrow a techtom

Congrats man! I'm almost there now, hehehe.

Well for this:

I can suggest a "better"/cleaner way to wire the power battery. If you still have play, you may want to try to run it along side the fender. Just take the fender off and you'll know what I'm talking about. Slightly safer & cleaner.

Also, that looks like a normal battery back there, I hope you have a vent tube for that bad boy - why not move it to the passenger side? - this will better balance the weight & also allow you to run a shorter power wire (passenger to passenger). Also, I hope you havea circuit breaker or two to prevent fires.

remember, "Only you, can prevent forest fires."
