Bought the one listed on ebay. Its not a half bad deal $700 for the hlsd and two new output shafts. I feel I will be able to give a real good comparison between it and an open differential, which I have been racing and driving with quite heavily this summer. My standings in Street Mod should improve significantly

Yeah, I think a limited slip is also my next buy as well. I would like to go 1.5

Cusco's are mad expensive. A Kaaz, I think you have to order from the factory since they normally come as a 2 way. Does nismo make a 1.5 for s13's?

Let us know what you think of it when you get it installed J-spec. Good buy.

Don't forget to change out the gear.

Honestly, you shouldn't really need an LSD. Have you tried just using racing tires? Since an LSD is only pointful when you're losing traction, just figure out why you're losing it.

Awesome, i've been looking at the s15 hlsd as well. I heard they work great as long as both wheels are on the ground, but once one leaves the pavement, it acts like an open diff.Let us know how it works!

Well, R-compound tires cost over $1000 per set, last about half a season, and cant be used on the street. The Torsion LSD's apply more torque to the outter tire while turning, thus helping rotate the car while keeping both wheels working and the differential will last the life of the car

I do understand what you are saying, but I have tuned my suspension at the track, and it didnt help with putting down the power. My car puts down over 175ft-lbs of torque by 3000rpm, and it climbs from there. So my choices were $700 for the hlsd, $1000 per half season for tires, or $2500 for revised suspention bits (my rear coilovers were not properly designed and I need control arms and bushings all around)

I dont have any problems with my inside rear tire leaving the ground, my car sits too flat in the corners. I've had visual conformation at the track of this

Let us know how you like it for autoX. I'd be interested to hear how much it helps you. $700 seems like a lot for a used OE diff, I hate when stuff starts to get "popular" and prices climb.

Because his problem is mainly the unloading of the inner tire.

Putting R-Compounds on the vehicle would just make the problem worse.

Greater the handling force, more weight is unloaded from the inner wheel, same resulting wheel spin.

i ran a full season in street mod on my stock open diff before putting an S13 VLSD in.

Also, Matt, if you want a nice set of auto-x tires, look at the Kuhmo V700s. That's what a lot of the folks in my region use and it's what I'm looking at getting here in the near future.

Well the output shafts are $150 a peice new, which has always been nessecary for the HLSD swap, so really im getting the diff itself for around $400 shipped.

Bart, I'm resisting the urge to buy another set of rims so I can get some other things done to the car before the end of the summer Allot of guys use either V700's or hoosiers here, I'll probably end up going with whats cheap when the time comes (the V700's).

from my experience, the hoosiers don't have as long of a shelf life as the khumos. You'll find that the hoosiers offer a better compound when they're new, but as the age, they get harder, and by the end of the season, the khumo offers better performance. If we were in a sport that ate up tires at a rate of a set every few races, then the hoosiers would win my vote.

You put the S15 helical LSD into your S13 diff casing. Use the S13 ring gear and S15 output shafts and your good to go.

$700 is steep. I paid $300 for mine and that was for an entire pumpkin (outputshafts included). Turtl, hit me up on aim again sometime...

Well, please do hook me up with who you get your stuff from . I've been looking for almost a year now for the mystical $300 S15 HLSD, I called every parts importer I could think of and the answer was always either not in stock or over $800 + wait time or you have to buy the whole S15 motorset with it.

Hey dori dori, what's up. I actually totalled my car so I'm not in the market for one right now. Maybe in about 6-8 months...
