If the A/C was on I would think more....Scandinavian Flick wrote:so i was running some number in a 7 hour day of idleing your car should only use approximately 1.28 gallons,
I hope so cause I have a feeling I would do this exact same thing.LongBeachCoupe wrote:I dont understand...
When you walk away from the car with your keys in your hand, the car beeps i believe 10 times fast in a high pitch letting you know its running... right?
One thing I really love about the Coupe is the fact that the warning beeps aren't too loud or annoying. I was driving my mother's 2006 Ford Five Hundred last month and the damn thing beeped really loudly if you even shifted in the seat. Don't buckle the seat belt and it beeps 28 times! I don't know how she stands it, but the car's probably geared towards blue-haired old ladies who don't hear so good anyway. Of course the flipside of the Coupe's quieter, non-annoying warning beeps is that you won't hear them as well if you're parking near a busy street with a lot of loud traffic whizzing by.LongBeachCoupe wrote:I dont understand...

astonius wrote:In a nutshell, I left my car running for 7 hours straight today. I got out of it at work, guess I didn't realize that I didn't push the button to turn it off, didn't hear it running, and walked away. 7 hours later a page comes across the building for the owner of a new silver Altima 2 door... I call and find out it had been on since this morning. I run out there, turn it off, let the engine cool down for about 5 minutes, then drive it around (very carefully) to make sure everything is still running alright. As far as I can tell, everything is okay. Is there anything in particular that I might need to check as a potential problem? Could this cause any damage or any abnormal wear or am I just out some gas?
I even told the dealer when I bought the car that I could see myself doing this...
Wow, now that is Luck with a capital "L"! Can you throw some of that my way please?MadBlackCoupe wrote:Been there, done that, wrote a book about it, designed a webpage and a blog, knocked out a quick Facebook, then posted on Myspace!
Don't feel bad man. I left my old altima running, caught the subway, went to work, put in 8 hours, caught the subway back, walked to the car, stood there for 10 minutes trying to find my dam keys, lol, then realized I heard a little hum, that new car hummm, looked in through the window and saw the keys still in the ignition, opened the damn door, it was unlocked...and still running, for at least 10 hours...lol.
