When I go over a bump or dip, it feels as if my car (1995 240sx) has no struts or springs. Significant bumps make me feel like I'm driving a go-cart, meaning I feel the entire thing.
I replaced the struts with AGX ones and have tried all 4 settings (loose to tight). It's not quite as bad, but it barely improved. What else could be the problem? Some bumps/dips jolt the entire car. It feels like a really hard knock.
Btw, this is only the front. The back takes bumps and dips just fine. And no, I'm not flying 90 mph over these. It happens at any speed, even 5 mph over railroad tracks is sometimes too fast for a smooth crossing.
Also, the car rides perfectly smooth (no vibrations/rattling) on smooth surfaces, but hitting just a small bump (entrance to parking lot, driveways, start of a bridge) is very rough unless going VERY slow. It's not that I fly in parking lots and driveways. I go a normal speed like I would in any car. My car just hits these bumps so hard. Bumps that I would barely notice in other cars.
Please help me figure this out. The rough rides are getting old.
thanks
