We lost a lot of people before the change. They were sick of the way things were going at the old board, and they left. Our member count is down. Plus, all the separation makes it difficult for people with slower computers to check everything. I have a fast computer and it takes me a long time to sift thru everything to get to all the different stuff.

this new board is slick and all, but I prefered the text only board, these UBB-like boards are all 'trendy'. At least this is PHP and not CGI

I like the new board, for the most part...might be nice if it looked a bit less like the exact same as the zilvia boards...poor me is getting confused. ;) Aside from that, yeah, lost a lot of folks...but...that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I like the new board. I think it will attract more users.

I like the options that come along with the vbulletin. Plus my posts will be the same when I make new threads along all of the 240sx forums I am on.

You all should join club240.com , and get that board kicking.

The good thing about the vbulletin format is that it marks a thread when theres a new post as well as the poster, whereas the old one didnt. I had to remember how many replies the thread had last and check it again when it went up.

Go to http://www.club240.com right stanbo? heh heh :)

they have a registry where you can upload pics of ur car and info about mods and stuff.

A little plug for the site...:D

Just to let you guys know the main reason we made this switch:

On the old boards, the server we were on was in control of the forums. Everything we wanted to do we had to get permission from the server, which sometimes took weeks, or even months in some cases. We had no admin control. Moderator's only privladges were to edit/delete posts. We couldn't choose permissions for people, who were our moderators, etc. For instance, it took MONTHS to even get me moderator privladges back on the old boards. Basically, the old boards sucked from an Admin view.

The new boards may look more complex and stuff than the old ones, but atleast we have full control now. If we want to ban an IP address, we can. If we want to email all members, we can. If we want to add a forum, we can. If we want to add a moderator, or delete one, we can. All these options, amongst other things, is the reason for the switch. Hopefully, most of you agree. For those who don't see this as a better board, we hope to change your minds. Let it go a while, and hopefully you will see, that just by having these boards, we will be more of a family.

I think it's nice that now there is always a moderator on. That's the reason we have so many. We can have 24 hr coverage with this many mods. Admin's are on the board too more. If you have a problem with something, we can deal with it in less than 24 hrs. It doesn't take months anymore.

Anyway, I'm just excited that this is finally launched. I know we had mentioned it for months that we were switching boards and servers, but now it's a reality! Well, that's it for now!

I second that thought. Of course, I may be biased. : )

Been on there for a hot minute. I think I am on every 240sx forum there is out there.

My car is on there. Check the registry for StanBo. :ylsuper

Plus I don't think I was getting email notification from that site. That is one tool I really like. I can keep up to date with postings.
