Hey guys ive put about 500 miles on my car. For the last three days i keep catching a boost leak. Its not just a regular boost leak, it fixes itself!I've tightened looked and mess with all vacuum lines and intercooler pipes. I roll down the street and all of a sudden it feels like i hit a brick wall! my rpms still go up but i barely accelerate. Out of first it doesn't move till about 2000 rpms. and getting to about 3000 rpms it wont do into boost and barely go. I pull into a neighborhood go down aways and then its starts picking up at full boost again!

I found out that it does this the last 2 days when im in a traffic jam where i keep coming out of 1st gear and also when its blazing hot! After turning the engine off and turning it back on its boost comes right back. What could it be? I was thinking something electrical, like my mafs is bad?

Try cleaning the MAF first. Worst case, you're out $4 for some electrical contact cleaner, best case, it fixes the problem :)

also i forgot to mention that it doesn't overheat, or eat up coolant. my vacuum reads 20 when its at idle but when its fine it read 18. I believe when i have a voost leak with the intercooler or vaacuum lines it reads 12.SHould i clean the inside of the maf? or where i put the plug in?

Inside the MAF. Just take it off, coat the entire inside with electrical contact cleaner, and wait about 5 minutes for it to dry, then re-install it.

look at the little light bulb looking filements in there too. make sure they look intact.

Could also be a fuel delivery or spark problem too. How is your pump? How about your coil packs?

i got a walbro in there and i do have an extra set of coilpacks I kept the old sprak pugs in that came with the motor because they looked new and they were platinums. I dont think i would have to do with the spark plgs. What happens when your fpr is bad? or the o2 sensor?

My o2 isn't even plugged in. If you have fowled your plugs (it happens) the car will idle poorly which causes low vacuum readings.

The FPR doesn't need to be hooked up for the car to idle properly either. It should idle smooth and boost fine unless your fpr has totally taken a crap and is just free flowing. But that would be perminent.

If the plugs looked new you may have gotten a motor that someone seafomed. There is nothing wrong with that procedure. it actuially helps the motor but it will usually fowl up the plugs.

It could also be a vacuum leak but i really believe it's related to spark. Check to see that your coil pack harness is plugged in nice and tight and that each coil is plug is tight.

hmm, i had the same symptoms. i tightened my IC piping and it went away. this only happened on hot days when the stock hoses would expand and leak.

well yesterday i rolled in my car all day with no problem at all. and it ran perfectly fine. But yesterday and today it rained and was cool at 70 degrees not really hot. Im going to have to wait until its hot and i run it for a awhile to see if that is the problem.

Sounds like a slipping clutch to me.

well i have been running my car the last few days and i haven't caught this problem yet. I think it has to do something when it gets real hot and humid here. my clutch is grabbing fine, not as grabby as it was when i first put it in though
