Im having trouble finding the right rims for my altima...I want rims with a deep lip. I have seen on many altimas with 20''s it looks like the car is swallowin the rim so i would like for my rims and tires to stick out just a little bit on the sides...suggestions will be appreciated THANX

so you want the edge of the rim, to extend out past the widest part of the fender?

what kind of rim "style" are you looking for?

The edge of the rim and the tire I talk to a buddy of mine and he said I should just get a wider tire...not sure if that is really true. I also heard that if you could put RWD rims on a altima and the offset will make the tire and rim stick out a little on the side

First step would be reading some of the sticky threads on the wheel section...

Grab a 08 wheel guide, and decide what you want.

My lip is the width of a dollar bill.

alot of factors go into picking your rims, but one of the most important things is price. How much are you willing to pay for these, also what color, what size. If you want big wheels that will stick out a little, then get a 20"x9.5" wheel. Also check the web. go on wheel sights and look for yourself, then maybe you can narrow it down to 2 or 3 and we can help you decide. Part of the fun when modding your car is actually looking for stuff and deciding what you like. Not just because someone else has it or because they like it. So hear is a site for you to start looking at. So get to work son....

4" (4.5"?) lips for you. Axis achieves the extra lip width because of the spoke design. They curve inward towards the hubs where most wheel spokes are flat or straight and in front of the hub.

Quick-A staggered setup will generally mean you wont have the ability to rotate tires front to back. Unless you dont mind or the stagger is small enough where it wont be readily noticed.

As LBC said - definitely buy a wheel guide - this will tell you the recommended specs on upsized wheels for the Altima as well as the G35/Z. I mention the other cars because the specs for these (which are staggered from the factory) - may work for you.

Besides selection and price, the other major factor I would say is - how are you going to do the purchase. I chose a local rimshop - as opposed to mailorder. I wanted to have an extra measure of support.

Nothing beats seeing the wheel in person. Going through a local shop may give you the opportunity to see the wheel (or wheel size) that you are contemplating on your car before you purchase.

Your right man...I have just been doing alot of looking around because I know what I want I just havent found it yet...if that makes since. I have seen many alima sedans and the rims dont look right because the type of fenders the altima has which is why I want the lip and for them to stick out just a little on the side. That might not be what I should do which I why I opened it up for suggestions. I just dont have alot of knowlegde when it comes to rims and they way they fit.
