I see them here all the time. In fact, I saw a Versa and a Tiida right beside each other at a stop light.

Isn't that similar to what Honda owners do to their car, slaving the Civic emblem, slap an Integra emblem in place? Whatever floats your boat!

Lol @ Civic's and Integra's.......The only unfortunate difference between them 2 are the whole car, other than that they are pretty much the same. Clear as mud? TIIDA sounds so much better and since it is the same exact car in many ways, fack it, I debadged the Versa and Rebadged it as a TIIDA, I find it better looking than a debadged Versa all together and now I am TOTALLY different from the pack, I might as well say that I am the only TIIDA owner in Newfoundland (550,000 people) And 90% of people, even the coppers, dont even know what a Versa is, holy shat, cant wait until they get a load of me the next time I gets pulled over and I am driving with the wrong registration!!! LMAO, ill make the pigs work for their checks this time 'round.

And one of my friends that I got into the tuning world made a good point. For example, Civic, Skyline, Lancer and so forth are all known worldwide as such, but why the fack did Nissan name the car TIIDA in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Finland, Ireland, Japan, Middle East, Israel, Mauritius, Mexico, Panama, South Africa, former eastern bloc countries, China and Sri Lanka, Versa in Canada and US, and Latio in southeast Asia? It is originally a TIIDA, Versa is only the North American Market name. So I consider myself driving a TIIDA, we all are driving TIIDA's.

I was a prior '98 Civic owner. So if you happen to get pulled over by a cop and your registration doesn't match, they're gonna wonder. Then you're gonna have to explain the entire story. You'll have something to talk about at least!

Pretty cool....since you have a TIIDA now you must back up the name with the pure awesomeness of the aftermarket parts that are available for the TIIDA.

If I dont see a TIIDA grill on your "versa" in the next 3 weeks you have let down the whole entire versa "scene".

You should have used the VERSA letters with the TIIDA letters and spelled DAVIA TIRES. Then you just have to move to Italy, start a tire company called Davia, and make it successful across global markets and highly popular with the youngin's, then everyone would be putting Davia Tires vinyls on their rides and you could be like, 'Look, I had this badge on my Versa 20 years ago!' Then everyone would see that you're the greatest and we'd all live happily ever after.

BTW, the thread title should read, "unsuspecting".

Regardless, it's a Versa. I don't think anyone will notice... or care.

This practice has been going on for years. The Fit has been sold as the Jazz. I see Ford Lobos (F150's) all the time here as well.

You're right. And we can have whatever opinion we want.

I just don't understand why people change the badge on their car to another. It doesn't change what they are driving. There are other differences between the Tiida and the Versa beyond the badge on the back. Slapping "Tiida" on the back makes it a Versa that says Tiida on the back. Nothing more.

As for the "pigs" remark mightyversa. Grow up dude.

Lobos? Isn't that slang for someone who has had a lobotomy? It fits, seeing the way pickup truck owners drive around here... They're all either drunk or running from the cops! or both!

I've been driving a Versa V6 since Jan. 2007, and I've gotten so many questions about it... I did it as a joke, since my car was one of the many SLs delivered without an SL badge, I decided to play a prank on my fellow motorists by yanking the V6 badge off a Passat and throwing it where the SL badge belongs. The comments from people crack me up... many of whom have asked how I got a V6 Versa. I tell them it's a limited edition of one. Sometimes they get it...

Lobo = Spanish for "wolf".

The Ford Lobo is the Mexican version of the F150. Not many outside of AZ / NM / TX.

That's what forums are all about isn't it? I'm not saying he shouldn't do it, just saying I don't get it is all. Maybe I'll throw a Ferrari badge on mine and pretend.

you forgot to mention CA, we have our fare share as well... ive seen plenty of exotics here in cali, like a GT-R Mustang, SE-R civics, i think the only thing that tops the list is almost every make of car with Z3 fenders!

Hell yeah Mile High, I creatively attacked AZ and Marley, but then I didnt want to get kicked off again cause it was really, how would you put it, RUDE, just like some of the comments in this post. I rebadged my Versa because I like change and TIIDA is a Versa anyway, I dont understand why people are saying they are putting GTR on Mustangs, SE-R on Civics n sheot, I am putting the name of the SAME CAR, not no facking model from a whole different one. Shows the IQ of some people here is quite below 80, you know who I am talking to.

Congrats on the mod. rofl. You should be able to "kill" some smart cars now with the extra power.really rofl

I suspect that you will be changing your sign now as well. You could go with "the great predender".

Any other suggestions ?

Predender, nah....oh, what about the great pretender? Nice spelling for a logistics co-ordinator .....just realized there are alot of old farts here, man, you would figure these middle ages men would spend a bit more money and get a flex fuel impala or a benz! At least I know your a true SASSY, I worked with guys in Alberta from Sask. and they all acted like you, then when we all went home (business housing) we all got together with a bunch of my newfie brotherin and 1 on 1 (5 newfies and 5 sassy's) took them all out one by one and they all went home cause the newfies kick their asses, your all babies, you can dish the words, but cant throw a fist for sheot! Then you blame it on the stupid newfs, lol.
