Hey all, for those that don't know me (and those outside the 300zx section likely don't), I bought myself a Christmas/Birthday present in the form of a 2012 Code Red TITAN SV SAP 4x4. Yes I typed TITAN in all caps, I feel like I must, if you've driven one you should understand :gapteeth: So yeah, just wanted to say hey and :bigthumb:

Thanks, it's a beast, my first full size truck and the VK is a torque monster, already making plans for a trutrac, bolt-ons and UpRev. I'll get some pics up when I get a chance.

Still haven't gotten around to it and she's dirty. I was debating getting a new one with the cummins but the deal I got on this one was too good to pass up. Question for you JB, whats your real world MPG? Mine varies between 14 and 18 depending on how heavy my foot is (I reset at every fill up).

In the city I get 15-18 depending on the foot, on a highway trip 21-22 doing 65-70

The VK does the same (slightly less but about the same), this is why next upgrade will be a truetrac, then I'm thinking headers and uprev, also if I find a buyer for my left kidney I may even spring for a blower haha.

So I've read, hearing guys on titan forums making an extra ~60 rwhp with just the uprev, not sure if I believe that just on a tune but I have been surprised before.

Mine came with a K&N from the PO and the SAP adds a magnaflow cat-back from the factory. I'm not really worried about the power at the moment, it makes enough to get me in trouble. But the wishlist is there for when some disposable funds rear their head.

Pics added in first post.

We've got the same rig! Eager to hear about some mods as they come along. I'm thinking along the same lines you are.

Nothing so far, since buying a house 1.5 years ago all project funds and time have been spent on it, but now that I've been hauling a ton of stuff (using a truck for what it's designed, imagine that) I feel like my first mod is going to be some Hellwig 2.5k helper springs, it really sucks cruising around with 1500lbs in the bed staring at the sky. I still really want the truetrac but that may have to wait.

Transmission. Short version is two reprograms and replacement transmission before the first oil change.

Well that's not good. Seems like the 1st gens had issues with the eLSD diffs, now this. Are you looking at forcing a buyback?

YO I have returned.

Still in my 2017 - got some new issues and thinking about pushing for a buyback. My navi reboots if I plug my iPhone into the USB, I have window trim pieces that broke just from normal opening and closing of the door and A/C fans making loud noises they're not supposed to make. I think I honestly just got a bad one. I really like this truck aside from my issues - it's my first truck and the utility of having a truck is such a welcome thing for me in my life right now. Looking at where others are at, I really think I could just get another Titan and be happy.

BTW I LOVE the tires on your Titan, NoLimit. Are those Goodyear Duratracs?

Glad to hear you're back and still in your truck. The first gen isn't without it's absolutely stupid issues but all of them so far (knock on wood) are cosmetic where the plastic trim on the outside starts separating because its stuck on with trim tape and not clips, only non cosmetic issue I've had is having to replace my driver window regulator (stupid cable driven design that eats itself). I know what you mean concerning the utility, I've had plenty of 4Runners, a Tacoma, and a WD21 but this fullsize thing is a whole other world, its the first full size I've owned and I really can imagine myself driving anything else daily (I've tried to convince myself to sell it but alas it's still here), kind of terrible because living in Houston I do a lot of driving and at an average of 14ish mpg that translates to a sad wallet.

The tires on it were Duratracs, They look great but their on-road manners are awful, they are the loudest AT I've ever experienced and float like no other. And they are no better for grip off-road than General AT2s, BFG ATs or the Falken AT3Ws I swapped them for.

Dude... me too. This is my first full-size truck and I'm fully on board with a half ton truck for a DD. It's so convenient and I'm so comfortable and I stress out about relatively little compared to driving a Z or a Q50 all day. My truck is nice, and I take care of it, but I don't worry about potholes or curbs or people parking too close to me or not being able to see around cars in heavy traffic. It's been a very liberating purchase for me. When the Z comes around again, I won't have to drive it every day and it can stay in the garage when there is rain or too many people out.

Thanks for your feedback on the Duratracs. I will keep an eye out and do some research on the BFGs and Falkens you mentioned. I also saw some Bridgestones that look appealing. Time for more research! I don't really mind the General Grabbers on the truck, but as they've worn they've gotten very noisy. The nice thing is, for me, they're cheap. I say for me because I'm used to Z/Q tire land, and I rarely got out for less than $1000 before installation on any of the tires I ran on those cars.

I went from DDing a 540i (which is now safely parked in the garage and taken out on sunny days) to the truck and boy is it nice to sit in traffic and see that moron barreling toward you thinking of what color the truck that their insurance is going to buy you will be instead of trying to quickly come to terms with your mortality.
