DO THE MCKINNEY MOUNTS WORK ON THE RB20? IF THEY DO I'M GOING TO GO THAT ROUTE FOR MY SECOND CAR.

MY DAILY DRIVERS KA24E IS ABOUT TO KICK THE BUCKET SO I'M LOOKING AT BUYING JONS AUTO RB25DE STUFF AND MATING IT TO MY SPARE RB20DET AND DROPPING IT INTO MY DAILY DRIVER.

IF THE MOUNT KIT WORKS I'LL BE PULLING RAW CONVERSION OUT OF MY PROJECT CAR AND SWAPPING IT INTO MY DAILY DRIVER.... THEN BUILD UP THE CHASSIS AND MOTOR OF THE PROJECT CAR AND USE THE MOUNT KIT FOR THAT.

WELL IF ANYONE KNOWS LET ME KNOW TOO PLEASE :)

when i talked to them they said that the RB25 engine mount pieces (the ones that connct to the block) would have to be used on the 20 in order for their kit to work. Though i thought they where the same. i guess not

THEY ARE THE SAME, I HAVE A RB25 SET AND A RB20 SET THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE RB20 IS STEEL AND THE RB25 IS ALUMINUM. THE MAIN THING IS THE TRANS CROSSMEMBER THE SAME, AND WILL IT WORK FOR THE AUTO?

call them. If they don't fit, I bet they would make you something for a little green. I am so glad I chose to use their mounts. It saved me a ton of work.

Our mounts will NOT work unless you change the block adapters (steel pieces from the block to the mount.) Our RB20 kit is in work and about 4 weeks from completion(testing), It will work with the Skyline RB20 motors. like our other kit there will be adapter for the front 240 crossmembers and a new trans mount and optional driveshaft. It will center the shifter and lower the engine...

The problem is that if you get a mount kit for your RB20, chances are it's going to move the engine down and back, so whereas you didn't need a new driveshaft before, with stock RB20 mounts, you'll need one with the custom mount kit. Seems like more money than it's worth, IMO; I'll just deal with the sway bar/hood bracing/downpipe problems separately :)

I'd figure on about an inch. Who knows, it may not move the engine far back enough that you would need a new shaft, you might still be able to use the old one, but I wouldn't think so.

Cam look at the date of the post, it was before I knew you had a kit.

My d/s shaft has over an inch of play so the stock shaft will still work.

if the kit doesn't move the engine more than an inch you should be fine.
