i paid pep boys 40$ to check my codes and it had a knock sensor code, so i did the by pass with a 2 watt mega ohm capacitor and when the car is cold it runs great but when it warms up it gets sluggish again, what could be the problem? is there a way that i can check the codes?

thanx for any help

What is a 2 Watt mega ohm capacitor?

you should have used a resistor. I believe the value is 100k ohm - someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sure its low wattage - 1/4 or 1/2 Watt would work fine.

550,000 ohm is the test resistance of KS, however the lack of noise pickup from by passed KS will change the ignition advance.

Bypassing KS is a temporary diagnostic test not a suitable longterm solution.
