I did it!!! 250k

Well boys and girls,

Tonight my beautiful car rolled over 250,000 miles on the original engine. She needs some work this summer but overall she runs well for the amount of miles on her. Just thought everyone would like to know that with the help of this forum and smart car maintenance, your car can last for a long time.

Thank you to all that have helped me get my car to run this long. This forum is truly invaluable.

Congratulations and best wishes for 300,000. That is quite an achievment. I wonder how many Benz, Bummers, and Lexi from that year with that many miles can run with it?

The highest working Q we have seen is 283,000 miles [just brefore it blew] other than our 445,000 mile unit which has essentially been totally rebuilt mechanically.......same block, pistons, conn rods, crank, and heads, most injectors.

Somebody has got you beat..... I saw another Q at post office today, and owner commented on how nice my car looked. His ice blue Q was pretty ragged out, but said it was a '93 with 260K miles. I asked if he had to do any major work to it. "Nope, just change the oil."

I started to mention timing chain guide thing and he didn't quite understand, but explained some '93 models had updated timing chain guides.

He said he bought it when it came off lease at 40K miles and just keep driving..... even has trailer hitch, says now it's "his truck".

Nice to know he's getting his money's worth!
