I recently started rbswaps.com because I had an extra website I did, that fell through, so I decided to put it to good use. For those that know the particulars of what I'm talking about, please leave it alone. I'd rather not dig up old stuff so I'll get that out now, let's try to keep this on topic. This site is a tech site, I'm hoping to get this swap info as public and easy to aquire as it is for the honda boys and their swaps. I'm sure everyone has seen their wonderful site;http://hybrid2.honda-perf.org/

I'd like to make info available to the community, on that level. I've got some support from 2-3 rb guys, and have a few tech articles being worked on (1 is up so far and waiting on pics, etc). These will include wiring step-by-step processes, and diagrams. I'm also hoping for info regarding vacuum lines, etc. For those that have just regular mods, like susp/brakes, tech articles regarding them would be much appreciated to.

All people who submit tech articles will have a members page, with pictures and mods list, contact info (youll have a [email protected] email address), your story on why you did the swap, and I'm working on discounts through different shops currently.

If you're interested, please email me at [email protected], thanks to all those who decide to help. It's greatly appreciated!

update:

Nismo241 already did a wiring how-to on installing the rb20 into an s13 using only 1 interior wiring harness (to clean up the mess). He is sending me pics for this shortly. When he's finished, there will be an article on how to use the R32 gauge cluster. I'll also be working on finding a gauge face (once theres demand for it) company that will make an overlay to convert the kilometers to mph for us american boys that want a speed reading hire than 120mph, but dont want to have to read it in kilometers.

Thanks for your time spent reading this!

Well i don't have anything major done yet, but over the course of the next few months i'll be documenting all the info i find for both RHD conversions and the S14 - RB26DETT swap. Both of these have very little info, but hopefully i'll be able to find enough to do it myself and then in return make life easier for the rest of you. I got no need to keep it secret, the more guys that do it, the more demand for parts, the easier it is to get parts, etc.

And thanks for setting up the site, making the best of a bad situation. The RB community really needs this.

thanks, i hope everyone else sees it that way. Are you going to be using a silvia dash? or are you going to try and finagle the gtr dash in? The cars are very similar, so I'm sure with some good old fashioned finagling, you could get the sucker in there. :) These 92-95 civic guys have done it with 94+ integra dashes, and it looks pretty good. Let me know, maybe I can help ya with the finagling, I love to finagle. ;)

No i'm just gonna get a clip from someone who used a S14 SR clip, get the firewall and dash off them. Then i'll probaly just order the engine from Dauntt or maybe a clip from Night if he can offer me the RB25 transmission and all the oil pan fittings. But thanks for the offer!

your welcome. i would recommend getting the clip from daunt since he offers the oil pan and needed excessories to be used. you might want to check with him on the dash and firewall too, as well as the guys at heavy throttle.

I hear ya man, but i have money coming, and when it gets here i'm gonna be in a big hurry to get it. And Dauntt got this new thing about shipping the engines by air, and in 5 days. Thats really fast, plus he'll have all the fittings and the transmission work all done...but it is $6500, so i dunno...i still got time to plan it so i'm not worried...

if you offer them, it would be a wise business choice to advertise it that way, like Daunt does. Just a peice of advice.

come on man, dont be throwing sales pitches in my thread. PM/Email the guy for gods sake.

thanks for the support, its nice when someone apreciates the trouble you go through on stuff. means the world when busting *** to help the community, when out of the 40 people that use it (its had over 2000 hits in 1 day!!!!) 1 says thanks. I can't wait to get the info up, it will have TONS of tech/reviews/write ups on it.

I can tell you the gauge cluster is quiote simple to wire up. The way I did it is......if you look on the back of the cluster on the board, you will see that every wire in each plug is labeled on that board, what I did is.....I wrote down what each wire in the plug was on the R32 cluster and it's color, and same with the 240sx cluster, then I matched up the wires. It was very time consuming and somewhat confusing. When I get the thing working perfectly, I'll do a write up on it, I'm still working out some bugs, I haven't had time to pull it apart again. Hope that helps a bit.

im really looking forward to your completion of rbswaps stephnic :) keep up the good work.

info on rbswaps shouldnt be sold, thats what makes the internet so great. I like how you pointed out the hybridhonda website. the people who keep the rbswap info a secret are just trying to cash in while they can but once you finish the website they can only charge for labor instead of $1000+ for info that should be free.

more power to ya :ylsuper
