I'm so ashamed. I fell asleep one late night/early morning and curbed my G while driving...04 coupe 5at. blew 2 tires, bent two rims (drivers side front/rear). So at the worst time it could have happened, i had no money. had money for new tires, just not rims. i got an aligntment/new tires that were balanced. i get shaking at 40mph+ and right turns it rubs on that arm that rotor/wheel connects to. (took tire off and seen rub marks).

im sorry if i sound like such a noob, but what the hell could it be? is that ARM bent? will replacing the rim really solve my shaking problem/rubbing problem? or do i have body damage. i used to have a smile on my face driving my G, now i just get pi$$ed! it's my fault. any help?

also sounds like brakes are crooked, it squeaks when the car slows it's roll (without brakes applied)

Replacing the wheel is going to definitely solve the shaking problem. As far as the rubbing issue, sounds like the upper control arm is bent. But I can't see how anyone would have got a vehicle aligned with that issue present. Who did the alignment? The brakes squealing maybe a dust shied rubbing against the rotor.

I had my friend's shop do it. Dealer couldnt fit me in, thought it would solve hte rubbing issue. i told him straight up before the alignment tires were balanced and my rim was bent so it could be possibly making it rub. so he said ok and gave me an alignment. it didnt change much for the front driver's side measurements from original but my car needed it anyway in the rear right and left.

So when u Said this "But I can't see how anyone would have got a vehicle aligned with that issue present."

Was i not supposed to get alignment without replacing rim? im sorry if im new to this, dont want to sound like an idiot. just trying to get some more info so i can learn more. thats all.

Or did you mean that the shop are a bunch of idiots that they didnt spot the real issue before doing the alignment? i can agree with my second response if u say they are idiots.

no pics yet, havent had time to take pics (my G is a commuter!)

A lot of small shops will do the alignment at your request even if they can't do it right. You come in, you pay, you leave, and they are happy... and your car is still broken.

Sorry to hear what happened. Welcome to NICOWhen the dealer told you he couldn't fit you in that was the time to place a crisp bill in his hand & say you were leaving the vehicle there and to call you when it was ready to be picked up. If you purchased the vehicle there then you were entitled to a loaner. A new 08 6 speed G loaner would have calmed you down. Even if you had to rent a vehicle for a few days I think things would have turned out better for you? I learned the hard way a few years ago that trying to save money by using unqualified shops ends up costing you more in both time and money.IMHO take it back to the dealer. Sometimes going to a dealer just outside your zip code can get you better prices and service.

Welcome to the forum... sorry it is this way that you have to introduce yourself!

I have to think that if you hit hard enough to do that kind of damage to the rims and tires, then I'd bet that you have some bent stuff underneath. Replace the rims for sure, and have the suspension checked by the dealer. It might benefit you to put this on your insurance. Your deductible should be a lot cheaper than the rims, tires and repairs. I don't think I would tell them that sleep was part of the equation... maybe that a dog ran out in front of you and you lost control. Just a thought.

Good luck, and let us know how it all pans out!

Welcome to NICO. Also sorry to hear about your rims. I'm going through the same thing now with my right rear. Except I know my suspension is screwed up, but I'm in the process of getting parts so I can get it fixed. If you're not for sure what's wrong, definitely take it to someone (the dealership 95% of the time) who can figure it out properly. Some towns also have import or nissan/infiniti specific shops. And for some things, those can be good to. But your best bet is still the dealership, especially if you have warranty.

Good luck!

Welcome to nico and sorry to hear your trouble.

I agree with Willie your insurance(deductable) would be cheaper then pay for all the problem. BTW that is my nightmare to mess up my wheels. My wheels are in perfect condition. But I would be pissed if something happened to any of them. Last time I got my tires replace when I've got the car back I ran around and inspect my wheels crazy. The rep had a huge smile on his face when he seen me doing it. I know I am .

Most shops can fix the rims if they aren't damaged too badly for $150 each. Definitely sorry to hear about your G

Check out our classified sections for possible replacements.
