So as I decided to restart my GT5 journey I was racing along and BOOM. Flashing red lights.
When it rains, it pours. WTF.
Don't worry ProudNissanFreak, I was able to turn it on for like 5 mins after the YLOD and recover my GT5 data (and your car).
The cost of GT5 is a large one...
$600 broken PS3
$300 for new PS3
$100 for GT5
$40 for self repair attempt
$1040 + (150 real life hours) + (5 years of save game data)

Dont worry, I feel your pain. I am willing to donate in the xmas spirit. Dont forget about the xmas eve sale of the 3 free cars in the PS store... and PNF, get an avatar.
I did do the initial DL, and it still took 62 seconds to get from the PS3 menu to the game, 32.6 seconds to buy & install tires and 46 seconds to load a race...
With the SSD installed it takes only 19.4 seconds to buy and install tires. The others I haven't been able to measure them. Trust me, it makes a HUGE difference, I just wish I did it right the first time.

I don't want any gifts, I just want car loans. PNF already lent me a Galardo SV so I can compete in some of the races. I want a Skyline that I can compete in the Special Bonus Race no.1

What you can do is download a program called GET DATA BACK NTFS Or FAT32. Use this program to retrieve the data off of the HD that you had all your GT5 stuff saved on.
You're welcome.
And i love you.
I love you to, but PS3 HDDs aren't formated in either NTFS or FAT32, they allow you to backup data using memory formated as such. But recovering data off the internal disk drive would require an OS that can read specially encrypted PS3 data.
