well it started saturday nite at around 11:30ish when a friend and I were returning from a blockbuster, i began flying over this over pass at about 105 (in the rain, yea i know, shoot me, what the HELL was i thinking???), well on the down slope of htis overpass, there is a long left hander that overloads the outside tires, ive taken this turn before at about 90 safely, but now it was raining, i realized this and began to slow, but the turn was too sharp, i was on the inside lane and the front tires gave as i hit a small puddle going about 90, the car jerked to the right, i compensated, then it wanted to fly left, i compensated again, however, the car proceeded to spin around 3 full times and i hit a concrete barrier at about 85, i freaked out, after making sure my friend was ok, i pulled over in a starbucks parking lot, got out of the car, and the ONLY hting wrong, was the front bumper was scraped pretty badly, but NOTHING else, not headlights, no hood, not even the grill was touched, so now i either have to get it wet sanded and repainted (how much would tihs be???) or buy a whole new bumper, just a lil note to kids, u always fuk up when u think u know what ur doing, i had 2 hands on the wheel the whole nite, and still managed to pull somehting stupid

I did that at about 50 in the rain through a tight curve in my first car...I felt like such an idiot, but I did about 1000 worth of front end damage to suspension and the frame ended up bent...so at least you didnt hit a curb, its more costly...but I bet you wont ever take a curve quite so fast in the rain again!

My Altima got hit in a parking lot.I took it to Nissan' body shop.We had the headlight(Xenon) and front bumper cover replaced. They also did minor body work to the fender and hood. The total was over 3k.Im glad the driver of the other car had to pay for it!:rolleyes

Better buy a bumper, if u hit a wall/rail(whatever) there will be gashes in it. Get another bumper, or get alot of bondo :D

Probably just to buy it. you'll have to add paint and labor. Get some bondo or if it isn't really bad just get the bra and move on.

thank god you're okay. .

well, at least ya didn't roll a new benz into a ditch during a test drive lol. . (but that wasn't 85 mph. . christ. . )

If it makes ya feel any better, I was passing an old legend and two semis on a 2 lane highway in the middle of the night. .following another S14 (he goofed, as did I). .

I was going 110 mph, by the time I was behind the cab of the 2nd semi. . almost around. . . he flashes his brakes once, and jerks into the right lane. . I look up, and there's a car. . I slam on the brakes, and actually get UNDER the trailer of that semi partially. . a 2 lane road became 3 lanes. . I was still going about 80 mph, and the other guy. . probably 40 - 50 at the time. . woulda been a nasty mess. . haha

You were really lucky.

I just totalled one of the nicest Q's in the country, carefully going 48mph in the right lane and losing traction on some ice...w/ a resulting spin...:(

But I am soooo glad you and your car are still good!:thumbup

Sounds like God was really looking out for you. The same thing happened to me on ice when I was doing 50 in the snow. The pavement had been fine until then. I escaped without a scratch on my nissan truck.:rockon

thanx again for all of ur concerns guys, and Fred, ive seen pics of ur Q (i think) and it was awesome, sad story, but bak to my car, i dont want a bra kit, i will DEF get this fixed, i think to wetsand and respray it, it will cost me nearly 350 or so, and im sure nissan wants 500-600 for the bumper (already painted), cuz i know the spoiler on the altimas (with L.E.D) cost 300 painted, so i dunno, thanx again

Damn. I'm glad you all got away safe. I totalled my first Nissan in the rain. Twas a '93 Maxima SE and it happened last May. It was raining really hard, and I was late for work. (Bad combo) I hydroplaned in the left lane on I95, a three lane area, and hit the guard rail. Then after I bounced off of it, I was still hydroplaning and with me perpendicular to the road, I got hit by a massive commuter bus on my LR fender. This kept me spinning till I hit the right hand guardrail where my roller coaster ride came to an end. My trunk was pretty much shifted to the right about half of the vehicle width and minimal damage to the cab and front end. I came out with a fractured rib and some bruises. Fortunately, like you all, I'm still here to talk/type about it. Oh yeah, busses hurt.:P

actually, it wasnt really scary, it more or less pissed me off once i lost total control, i saw the car spinning as if it was in slow motion, and i heard it scrape the wall and screamed a few choice words, i glanced over to make sure my friend was ok, and then once (in the middle of a spin) facing traffic, i realized they were too far away to hit us anytime soon, but it never really scared me, it was actually kinda 'fun' well, more or less an adrenaline rush, not that i would do it again, but i think, if i woulda had 2 more inches, i wouldnt have hit the wall at all, and it would just be, 'remeber the tiem we almost wrecked', but actually, if NISMO makes underwear, id love a pair!!

I did the same thing in a Toyota Starlet, you could have run alongside as it was spinning but I didn't care about that car like you do about yours so it was funny.
