when i did my exhaust i figured cheaper is my best bet, but i was sadly mistaken. i got the pace setter header costume bent piping no cat and a cheap a$$ e-bay muffler, yeah the fake apex. i did notice a little power increase but it sounds rice as all hell. i'm considering buying the real apex N1 but i want to know for sure that it will sound good. the other night i met a guy with an s14 that had the N1 cat back and it sounded really good. any ideas if mine will sound similar. thanks

From what I have heard... the Pacesetter header sucks. It may not be just your cheap Apexi rip-off that makes you sound like a ricer. You get what you pay for... period. My N1 dual sound damn good. It's not overly loud... and it doesn't whine when you hammer on the gas... it just gets a very agressive grumble then roars a bit.

It's hard to find the N1 dual. I went to several local shops and ALL of their sources had them on a "national backorder" with NO expected arrival date. I finally got one from heavythrottle, but it was around $550 shipped. I think Apexi stopped making them for quite some time... maybe if they knew the demand was there they would work something out. The guy from heavythrottle said he only had 2 left when I called back in September. So... good luck finding it... and hopefully it will be priced below what I found it for.

Well.. it is totally worth it. It is pretty expensive, but the look, sounds, and performance are great. The canisters are stainless steel and the pipes are powder coated so it will never rust. And, when you fire up the car... it's all business... it is an intimidating sound for sure... mean and gnarly... not ricey like a bumble-bee trapped in a tin can.

$530 w/o shipping for an N1? Jeez... get an HKS Hiper or a Blitz Nurspec for that price. I wouldn't pay more than $400 for an N1, and you can usually find them for less than that.

Hello,

I alos have the N1 style from ebay. Just had it installed yesterday and mine sounds really good compared to not have a muffler at all. (stock was rusted straight through so I just cut it off) I am still on stock piping till I swap the engine this May, but it sounds great, not like the whole coffee can muffler. I have not tried it wihtout the silencer yet but will later when I get off of work.

I think they were talking about the N1 Dual not the single.

why not jack the car up undo 2 bolts and 3-4 hangers and do it yourself? you'd save some money.

The N1 Dual is produced by Apexi solely for the American Market. There is no N1 Dual in Japan, that's why it's so difficult to get over here, because we're the only ones they sell them to, and they're produced in limited numbers. We will be selling them for 500+shipping if/when we can get some. : ) Enjoy your day!!

Hehe, I didn't say designed, I said produced. It's no longer a production model for Japan, only for the US, and they make it in limited quantities. : )

Does anyone know where there is a soundclip of an N1 dual, or even a single on an SR? I've looked around here and google and havent managed to find one yet.

i like the duals (mine sound awsome), lower profile and i heard you have to cut the tow hook to get the single N1 to fit (im not sure, feel free to correct me), i know the dual N1 has the same initial Piping diamiter (80mm or 3 inch) as the single and has the same flow rate, but there really is no advantage to the duals over the single N1

EDIT: oh yeah, i got mine from enjuku racing for 550 shipped, it took 3 months and they came with two big dents in one of the canisters (right where you can see them! :( )
