I know this is nissan forum and I still have my 240 now, but Im buying a 95 Grand Am GT and have been reading up on some forums and I wish those people would get smart. They think 15 seconds quarter mile is fast for a modded car, (fuel system, intake, exhuast). Dont get me wrong there are some good Grand AM people that know what they are talking about but I think there is a mixture of Ricers and BS'ers that own Grand ams more than people like on here that want to look good but go fast in the process. Man I just wish there were forums like nico for other cars.

Sorry just steaming. Ask a simple question and get chewed up and spit back out. I never knew it was so hard to find a friggin intake for a 95 grand am. Jeeze.

Haha! I know what you mean. There was this guy that used to hang out with some friends of mine at our local car hang out had a 96 grand am. He said he spent $1000 on the exhaust, had 150 shot of nitrous noxide, 72lb injectors, 280lph fuel pump, then this other ****,..blah blah blah. he boasted about a 15.2 and when I told him my Honda CBR600F3 rans high 10s he called me on bull**** and started saying that bikes cant go that fast. THen saying he could smoke my bike down the 1320. haha.

i found it to be one of the better GM-focused sites, back when i had a lumina.-Enzo

I hate to break it to you, but these kind of people exist on all forums. Even here. I know I saw a lot more of it when I first started posting here. I've seen it on most newer forums. As they get better established, you get more people who discourage flaming and such and also either humbles or weeds out the know-it-alls who come to the table with high and mighty attitudes. The NICO staff has done a pretty good job putting together a diverse group of both technically knowledgable individuals and people with a good measure of common sense and maturity as moderators.

I bought the grand am, one because I like how they look and if built properly can go quite fast. But its just as a daily driver cause I can buy it put 20K miles on it and sell for more than I bought it for. Grand Ams keep high retail value.

I agree about the mustang dudes. They all think they're faster than they are, and they all think they can smoke any "ricer". Most of them i've encountered at least. I smoked this 91 Mustang GT Coupe on ET Streets and the driver wanted to fight me after. He got all pissed off. Damn mustang people. But I think the same aplies for many V8 ponycars like that, mustangs are just what's more popular.

How fast is your V6 mustang? One of our Co. workers out here has a 2003 and we always make fun of him. It does like 17.0 stock out here (2700ft). Maybe 16.8 with a better driver, but not much more. Heavy car... I'm sure the 3.8 has a lot of potential. A stock time of 16.8 isnt too bad. It's about the same as a 240sx stock...

the best i can pull is 15.4-15.5

3.8 Mustangs = the lose

They cost to much to make fast. That is why im tryin to find a 240sx project car.

I hate the Grand Am. My mom used to have one... it was a POS

I find it funny that mustang owners are always letting you know their car is a v6... and that it is a 5spd simply because 90% of the ones out there are automatic...

My friend just got 2000 mustang, 5spd. I drove it a few days ago, felt like I was driving a truck. His friend says that it goes 0-60 in 4.9 seconds stock haha! That same friend said it had a carburator !!!(spelling).

15 seconds is very slow for a modded car...

Most Mustang owners that have a ego are the GT owners. I am registered on stangnet and 3.8mustang and the V6 guys attitudes are a lot different from the other guys. 90% automatic, I hope you were exaggerating, but yes most are automatic because the V6 is the econo line Mustang.

well, if you like that grand am at all, first, dont mention it here i guess, y1k3s! second, the 60* v6's arent all bad, theres quite a bit to do, and they at least have plenty of torque...-Enzo

60 degree V6 arent bad at all. Buick Grand National 3.8 turbo, i miss that car..Im a mustang guy and I will admit there are alot of guys out there who have big egos about their rides. Sometimes it makes me wish I didnt still own my SSP coupe. But thats something that comes with the territory. I could care less about how mucher faster/slower a person's car is compared to another because its all about having fun and not everyone's goals are the same. Yes v6 mustangs arent worth the upgrading for fast times. ATI was gonna come out with that damn procharger kit for the v6 along with a few turbo mustang companies creating **** for the v6. face it, its like turboing a kia spectra sicne the car was like bought for basic transportation. lol...**** i think im jacking the thread again..anyways back to something related...i believe in the early 90s around 92 i think but not sure htey had turbo grand ams from the factory. Not potent or competative but might look there for some ECU tuning. just a thought. You couldalways get the 3.8 supercharged motor from a bonneville SSE or grand prix GTP. hehe.

YESSSS! You dun RIGHT!

I was thinking in my head, why buy a DD while your car is out of comission. Just either sell it and buy a new 240, or just fix the front end with the conversion and either KA, SR, or CA!

hehe i wanna see your project go along :)
