I cant get my Gas gauge to work no idiot light to of the g working 1990 240sx cp

How do i test and fix it seems like the last owner messed it up i get no Gas gauge reading or idiot light plus looks like some one tried to fix it before cause theres elect tape all around the wires all other gauges work ok ? Thx

Where are the wires cut And do you have a multimeter to check voltage. If so I would check the voltage on the wires first.

the terminals on the fuel pump assy tend to corrode to the point of it falling apart. you can try to solder the wires back onto the terminal.
