or was it sabotaged by the dealer. It didn't even have any play in it when I dropped the car off yesterday for the alignment. I went to close it today on the I-state and the switch broke. I popped that whole contraption off where the switch and the lights are and when i get home from work I'll see what I can do to get it closed. Can I order the switch or do I need to buy more components? Just the switch is broken far as I can tell but I haven't thorughly inspected it yet. I do know that the motor is fine. Anyone ever break the switch and what did you do to fix it?

I took the switch out and called around, Scottsdale wants 29.99. Sounds pretty cheap. I used a paperclip to act as the switch just to close it for now and I'll order the part tomorrow if the local dealer wants more than Scottsdale. THanks for the help crew :D

Mine was partially broken when I bought the car - but fixed under the 100K warranty. Make sure you're gentle with the map light surround, or it can break and cause rattles...

My sunroof switch was broken when I got my car. A friend gave me a new one as a "car warming" present. I need more friends like that.

This is my first post on the new forum. I hope that ridiculous "driving mom's car" tag line doesn't show up. Mom wouldn't know what to do with the horsepower.

Hey Todd, glad you made it. The switch was 29.99 at Scottsdale and 56.00 here in Tally-Ho.

Wow! Amazing! Our esteemed local dealer must be adding -what- 300% markup?

I know they have to keep the doors open, but it sure feels like gouging. I don't think they realize that we have an alternative.

Scottsdale isn't *losing* money on the sale. If Scottsdale can sell the switch for $29.99 and still make enough well deserved profit to make it worth their while, I figure the switch must be something like $19.99 their cost. (How's that for a guess?)

To anyone from Scottsdale Infiniti, I offer a sincere THANK YOU! You guys have saved me probably $1000 in parts cost this year, compared to the Merry Band of Bandits we've got here. You've got my business as long as you want it. Please (!) keep doing what you're doing!

Anyway, just saw 'cheeze's announcement about "Driving Mom's Car." Hey now! Don't the hundreds (?) of posts I made on the previous NICO board count for something? Don't refugees from the Yahoo board get any special treatment? Only two more posts . . . :-) I don't mind -- I appreciate having a forum. NICO can call me anything it wants.

Hey Todd- Welcome!

Ya know, even once you get past the 'driving moms car', you still precess throught the 'hubcap' and 'pop chargers' and 'whatever...' Perhaps appropriate for a Honda Civic board, or Acura Integra board, but not what I'd propose on this Infiniti board.... oh well- I'm just SURE Dennis had a hand in this.

JUST KIDDING!

(I picked the moderator LEAST likley to propose these (IMHO)

Hubcaps? Pop charger? Oh, boy. :rolleyes What happens at the top of the heap? Fade-away paint job? Fuzzy dice? Magic gas-mileage magnets?

Hey Adam, Thanks for letting me know what I can look forward to. I didn't think you would voluntarily put a pop charger on your car -- I was beginning to think that someone had hijacked your name. Still haven't put the beautiful 16" 300ZX wheels and soft rubber on the Q. Getting one last summer out of my Toyos and Bridgestones, so the new soft rubber will stay softer longer.

No, man...

It's hardening as we speak- just sitting in the garage...the ozone and heat are ATTACKING those pups. Put them on NOW.

PS Since you're a newbie, I won't ask about the plenum hoses.... :rolleyes :D

PPS Let it be known that this website software WILL allow users to modify their 'titles' so we don't have to live with the titles picked by who-knows-who...

Haven't bought the tires yet. So the 300XZTT aluminum-alloy rims just sit there shivering, complaining about being cold and naked. Darned high-strung rims.
